How much have True Blue and Immaculate Collection sold overall? Sounscan, pre-Soundscan and Music Club sales? I was always curious.

TIC should be priced at $7.99 at iTunes- it's seen a nice boost each time it's been that price. A price of $12.99 isn't going to do the trick, especially when M has nothing going on.

It's also $12.99 at Amazon- maybe in the future, it will sale-price it at $2.99 or $3.99.

I checked on MAdonna-charts.com the sales of SS TOUR... They are so low, just 600.000 ww... Are these figures right?

TIC currently is at No. 125 on U.S. iTunes pop albums chart (it has been in the 170s-190s range a few days back when I checked). Imagine if it were selling for less than $12.99.

Celebration (single disc) is $5 at Amazon.com- not really ranked all that high, though (No. 222 on paid mp3 chart).

There's so much wrong with that list.

If you were to take Nicki Minaj, Rihanna and Taylor Swift - add their album sales together, and triple them - you still wouldn't reach Madonna's album sales. And you'd barely top Mariah's.

I hate how digital singles distort levels of success.

The list really doesn't have anything to do with album sales, but if you removed every song that only lasted on the chart for 1 week it would be very different, but if that was done, they would have to do it with so many other lists. It is what it is...but in the end...I'm sure down the line it's mentioned quite often that...what...20 of Taylors entries are one weekers.

For pop artists, a hit single is almost always needed to sell an album - its just that these days, you need a hit single to score another hit single. And after three hit singles, you might go platinum - if you're lucky.

Update:

Celine Dion’s 1999 compilation All The Way…A Decade In Song tops the 8 million mark. It’s the best-selling greatest hits album by a female solo artist in the Nielsen SoundScan era. (Madonna’s The Immaculate Collection is in second place. It has sold 5,845,000 copies since 1991. But that album was released in November 1990, so its tally is incomplete.)

Looks like Amazon listened to us now that TIC is now at a random $3.96 price tag for the entire MP3 Download Just took effect and is at 2,108 on MP3 Downloads but we should expect a nice boost soon enough.

On a separate note, not only has MDNA not gone down in price, but has now increased to $15.99 for the Deluxe to download on iTunes and Amazon
