[Moderator Message - This has been made a sticky topic for a short amount of time.]

Hi all,

In this forum they are 2 kind of members - 'Chart experts', everyone who search/post chart data, and 'Chart lovers', those who mainly enjoy what others post. Many of those chart lovers would probably like to contribute but don't know how to do it. This thread is for them. Many members already do a precise task every week and they do it well, a lot of other works still have to be done yet!

I have loads of excel sheets, formulas and such to estimate many figures from many countries, but I'm lacking time to compile/post here everything every week. I'm completely okay to send those sheets to everyone who want to contribute. Here some works already assumed by members:

Chart related threads
- Chart history UK/US : Hanboo
- Year To Date Chart - USA : Oldbloke
- Weekly US Charts thread : AutomaticBR
- Weekly Spanish Charts thread : Davidalic
- US Country charts : ZiggyStardust
- US best selling catalog albums list : Dane
- US best selling digital songs : Spiderpig
- US Yearly Best selling albums (3 threads) : Spiderpig
- US catalog chart weekly Analysis : Miguelito
- RIAA Weekly Updates : thebigham

Country related threads
- Brazilian thread : AutomaticBR
- Mexican thread : Hafo
- Spanish Sales/certifications threads : Davidalic
- Russian thread : Sniper/Marat
- US/UK Certifications/Over the counter alltime Sales : Basil
- Irish Charts/Analysis thread : Shakyfan
- Australian Best Selling Albums : Hur

Artist related threads
- Celine Dion Chart History : Jeangrey/BrunoSilva
- Christina Aguilera thread : Candyman
- Weekly Coldplay (among others) updates : Lostprophet
- Weekly Michael Jackson updates : Pierpinto
- Neil Young thread : Borderwolf
- Various Weekly chart positions : Borderwolf
- Beyonce thread : carlo_thebest
- Glasvegas thread : oasisbobo
- Lady Gaga thread : toni_pest
- The Killers thread : djlights

Note: For people who want to post weekly chart position of an artist, the best is to have a message with entire runs for all countries, updating always that same message and putting the page on which it is in the title of the thread, the data can't be easier to check than with this method!

UKmix related threads
- Updates of list of avalaible artist threads : Borderwolf

They are many others helping this forum to be so usefull, I can safely thanks them all in the name of everyone.

I would like to know who want to take the responsibility of a precise task? They are 2 kind of possible works - Artist related, posting chart positions/runs/certifications weekly of a precise artist (here an example, all artist threads have this chart history on it, updated weekly by a fan), the second kind of work is chart/country related, like works already done: alltime best selling downloads in the US, catalog sellers, posting weekly charts of Germany, Australia etc...
If someone is interested in Netherlands, I have an excel sheet where you only have to enter the sales indice of an album to get an accurate estimate of its sales, I used it myself on the Netherland thread but as I said I'm lacking time to compile it every week. I also have sheets with formulas to estimate all historical singles sales in the following countries: UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Australia, Canada. If someone is interested in, for example, working on all single sales in Australia, just say it, I will send him the Australian Singles sheet and give him all answers he wants to his question about the sheets/formulas/how to get chart data (to enter them in the sheet and get sales figures) etc.
That may be also someone who search for sales data on an accurate newspaper, if a German wants to search for old data of his country it would be great, or any other country.

So everyone who want to contribute, taking in charge a task, just answer to this thread and say what you want to do (for example updating weekly chart positions of Britney Spears), I will add everyone to this message and help everyone who is lacking links/data to complete his task. Feel free too to ask for sheets I referred to if you are interested in working on the related figures (I know several people that may be interested in the Australian sheet for example  ).

Those I missed to mention and who already take in charge a specific work please post it here too, I will add them to the list, it would be much better if this section of UKmix could a bit organized :)

Hoping for answers, join the UKmix Chart Experts Team 8-)

I do this for Christina's Greatest Hits:

http://www.ukmix.org/forums/viewtopic.p ... 28&start=0

I update the first 3 posts on the first page very often (sometimes daily, sometimes weekly).

During that time (of intensive work  ) I discovered so many great and useful sites about charts and sales + received important infos and links from some people (thanks 8-)). Now I plan to create a site for all her career charts/sales/certifications/statistics etc. :) but lacking time at the moment + not sure how to make it. Let's see...

Where is Hur?. Anything related to Queen and Pink Floyd (remember my topic?) is in charge of Hur. Also, I bring a lot of glamour to this forum.

Seriously, I would love to make an autralian list with the best selling acts there, overall, but the problem is that I don't feel capable enough to do it. I don't have faith in myself, I'm very modest. When I see what other guys post here, I feel I'm nothing, like you, Edu, Zago, Nelson, Spider and many others. You are offering your sheets, but that works for singles sales, though, and I'm mainly interested in album sales; I even have chart histories, certifications and estimated totals for about the 20/30 biggest acts there ever, as well as record companies claims to further support those figures and stats. But I don't know.

What I can do in the near future (you will have to wait me a week or so) is to open a topic for certain individual acts I'm interested in.

No, no, you bring nothing to this forum Hur!

More seriously Hur, I'm sure your estimates about Australia would be great! You don't feel confident enough to make it well, but the thing is nobody can pretend doing it correctly! It is when you try that you learn the most, then you fix mistakes here and there, you try to rework on estimates etc... Until a point you feel they are pretty accurate. It is a long work but very very usefull and satisfying to do. Believe me, you certainly know much more about Australian album sales than I known about artists sales when I compiled my first worldwide estimates around 5 years ago! That's doing mistakes first you will be able to give accurate estimates after that

I would love to give you the responsability of an alltime best selling albums in Australia thread  :)

Willypedia I don't know what you are interested in exactly. You can post full chart runs/weekly updates for current acts on their threads (Kanye, Lil Wayne, TI etc...), or try to estimate US sales of as many Rap albums as possible (if needed I have a lot of soundscan sales for them if you haven't see them previously), to build an alltime list. It depends on if you are more interested in some artists or in the entire genre, or more interested on US sales or performances everywhere, let me know what interest you the most!

Indostar I recognised you already^^

If you do the same work here as you do on CIF it would be already really great!

I do the US country charts (and sales) thread each week.

I was thinking to do a similar thread about the DVD sales (1997-2009) but I don't know if Chart Analysis is the right forum (or should I post it on TV & Movies forum). We'll see. :-?

Queen and Michael Jackson :) I can copy / paste my CIF topic on UKMIX. Mais j'ai un ptit problème.Il faut que je retire certaines balises car elles posent des problèmes. Ont dirait que UKMIX ne supporte pas plusieurs balises à la suite.

Borderwolf & candyman,

My data for DVD sales is complete for movies only. I have data for music DVDs but it is incomplete. Also the sales of music DVDs are small compared to the movie DVD sales, which are HUGE.

If I decide to do a thread, I will do it here on Chart Analysis. If there are people who are interested in DVD sales, let me know.

I've already posted info & data about DVD sales on another message board. :)

I just post whatever hasn't already been said - generally that's Aussie chart positions and iTunes updates.

But I don't want it to be so uber organised that I can't post anything without someone being like 'hey! that's my job, piss off!'

I've made this a Sticky for a while so, hopefully, more will see and read it and comment.

The Chart Forum can sometimes get cluttered with lots of topics and some organization is appreciated.
