SPOTLIGHT!
HOT NEW TRACK
DAVID GUETTA & KELLY ROWLAND - WHEN LOVE TAKES OVER
Image
Ever since Kelly Rowland’s R&B masterpiece of an album “Ms. Kelly” failed to receive the recognition it deserved, I’ve been anticipating an amazing comeback from her. My anticipation has been amplifying itself over the last few weeks as I’ve been hearing news of Kelly’s departure from the Knowles Clan, Columbia Records, and quotes of her saying that she is going in a new direction! Today, the official/original new single that she has worked on with David Guetta has leaked to the internet, and I have already been playing it non-stop! Her vocals are clean, clear and crisp, but also strong at the same time. The melody is amazing, and I love hearing her voice ride the thumping synth dance beat. This is an incredible start to a new era, and if this is the direction she is going in for her next album, I will definitely be supporting her. Expect this song to make a high debut on my chart next week!

So today I’ve decided to debut my weekly top 10 of songs that I’ve been playing on my iPod and computer during the week! The top 10 only consists of singles/songs that have been recently released over the course of the year, however, every month I will post an “Album of the Month”. This will review an album (doesn’t necessarily have to be released) that I’ve either discovered in my collection, or just bought that I think is absolutely fantastic! I will also have a review of the “Hot New Track” of the week! Anyway, here’s the top 10.

Yeah I love that song! It's funny how I despised it when I first heard it though, it's definitely a grower.

Exactly the same thing for me : the first listen was terrible in October I believe and then, in December, I really adored that !

Yes, me too! A dance record with those dramatic vocals would be incredible. I also think that America would embrace her if she released that record here :D .

SPOTLIGHT!
HOT NEW TRACK
CASSIE – MUST BE LOVE (FEAT. DIDDY)
Image
In my opinion, Cassie’s never really been much of a vocalist, however, she always seems to put out hot tracks that remain on repeat during their duration on my iPod. She’s done it yet again with her latest single, Must Be Love, featuring Diddy, a follow-up to Official Girl. I love this smooth, R&B beat, with the instruments that jingle in the background. The production blends well with her soft vocals and harmonies. The hook is also amazing, and is part of the reason why I fell in love with the song. However, Diddy’s rapping doesn’t really do it for me. I can’t really put a finger on it, but he doesn’t add anything to the track. Luckily Cassie saves the song for me, which is why it’s been on repeat ever since last week. I still don’t know if I’ll be buying her album when it comes out, but if she keeps releasing singles as hot as this, I may just have to go and get it!

18 (New!) – Beyonce – Video Phone
19 (RE) P!nk - Boring
20 (20) Lady Gaga – Paparazzi

SPOTLIGHT!
HOT NEW TRACK
SEAN PAUL - SO FINE
Image
Sean Paul does it again with his hot new dance-hall/pop track “So Fine”. As soon as I hear his Jamaican accent in the beginning of the song, I immediately think “This is obviously gonna be lackluster compared to his previous tracks”…but as soon as the beat starts pumping through my stereo, my mouse starts to distance itself from the “Stop” button after all. It’s taken me a few listens to get into this, but now that it’s grown on me I can’t stop playing it! There really isn’t much to say about it, it’s just a hot track that will make you want to get on the dance floor and shake your ass. Although not as good as my favorites “Gimme de Light” and “Get Busy”, this one will still be playing on my iPod for the next few months.
