MARIAH CAREY - OBSESSED

Mariah Carey recently made her much-hyped debut on B96 Radio Station in Chicago earlier this week…so it was pretty obvious who was going to make it into the spotlight this week right? I must say, on the first listen I was like “What the f***?”. The auto-tone, the heavy beat and the infectious lyrics overpower her weak vocals in this song. What the hell is she doing using auto-tune? She can already hold her own vocally, so to me she’s only selling out by using it. But then when I think about it, who cares really? Mariah’s already churned out a massive amount of classic albums that showcase her vocals and have made her go down in history as one of the greatest voices of our time, so why should we expect her to deliver more? Overall, the “track” is just hot, and I would love hearing it in the clubs. I love the beat, and I love the lyrics. We already know she can sing, so she doesn’t really need to prove anything with vocals at this point. I can definitely see this becoming a chart topper in the U.S…and possibly Europe. It’s already debuted at #5 on my chart!

I'm still not sold on that Amerie song!

Since the beginning of her career there has been next to no artistic growth, and it's something that I value a lot! It is a nice tune though i guess!

The rest of the chart is mega hot! Loving the new entries from Katy Perry and Jordin Sparks!

It's a great song! I'm gonna be playing it a lot since I was so dissapointed with 'Imma Be'. I really hope it'll grow on me because I was really getting into this BEP era.

In the past couple of months, I have not only been stanning for Bey…but I’ve also been stanning for Lady Gaga as well. I have been so impressed with her new album, and am even more impressed that ‘Paparazzi’ is getting the single treatment in the U.K! I’ve loved this song for so long. It’s got such a great hook, which sticks in my head and has me repeating ‘Paparaaaazi’ all day long. Her video is also amazing, unique and fresh, and I am just amazed by how she is taking the industry by storm right now. After dominating the charts with ‘Just Dance’, ‘Poker Face’ and now ‘Lovegame’ it seems, she is sure to have another hit on her hands with this song.
