I've just had to read Wuthering Heights for my English AS level. Hardly 'gripping'. Our very old english teacher started singing her song too and we all laughed.

(We so need an "agape" smiley - this one is too overused!)

It was quite gripping! But very depressing. I hated all of the characters. They were ghastly people. Very well written though. Lockwood was a rather bad plot device I admit. Nelly was a bitch. Heathcliff was a bastard. Everyone was an idiot.

Actually the book was pretty shit.

Well- she hasn't really had a huge crossover single since Hounds Of Love- and waiting twelve years to release an album is not gonna help the "youth" know who she is!

People who have followed her still love her. But the "youth" are into whatever is popular at the time. Always have been. But as i said- Bat For Lashes, Marina and The Diamonds, Florence and The Machine, Kristeen Young and to a certain extent Regina Spektor are all modern acts that bring to people's attention the originator of the sounds they make. Tori Amos has as well although she too has passed into "legend"/ adult music status- so has Bjork. The "youth" in general have moved on from Bush, Amos and Bjork. Even PJ Harvey is "past it" in commercial terms.

When Kate released Aerial & King Of The Mountain, considering all the buzz going around, especially in UK I can imagine...
Didnt non-KB fan discover her?
Or young people maybe?

What do you think?
KOTM did chart at #4, I dont remember the total chart run, but it was sort of a hit wasnt it?

Dont have any idea though if it got good airplay.

Thankful for answers since I've been wondering about this for long time now.

Red Shoes *** (although Moments of Pleasure is my fave track)
Aerial *****

I doubt 'the kids' know who she is, but she's often referenced by major acts as an influence eg Coldplay, Placebo, Radiohead etc, so the more curious among them might seek out an album.

She's begun recording the new album, according to Del Palmer.

Hmm, Del Palmer only mentioned he had spotted Kate in her studio, but that was a long time ago he said that.

Maybe the kids doesnt Know everything about her, but maybe they are aware of her contribution to British music, and at least heard her name?

The Kick Inside, The Dreaming & Hounds Of Love are all a 3. Though they have some fantastic songs on them, a lot of the tracks are inaccessible & sometimes just too weird to like.

Of the other albums I've heard of hers, Lionheart & Aerial, they're each a 2. The singles were good, but that's about it.
