CAN WE GET AN AGUILERA ENCORE?
Keith,
Christina Aguilera is one of my favorite artists. I was wondering if you can help me find out why she has not released any other singles off her latest album "Back to Basics." I was surprised that she only released three singles off the album, especially because it is a two-disc album.
Thank you for your help.

Hi Gabe,
RCA Records, Christina Aguilera's record label, didn't elaborate as to why there will be no further singles promoted to radio in the U.S. from "Back to Basics." Perhaps it has something to with the lackluster performance of the set's second and third singles? While the album's lead track, "Ain't No Other Man," reached No. 6 on The Billboard Hot 100 and No. 8 on the CHR/Top 40 radio airplay chart, the follow-ups didn't do as well.
"Hurt," a ballad, peaked at No. 19 on the Hot 100 and No. 10 on the CHR/Top 40 chart. The uptempo throwback "Candyman" stopped at No. 25 on the Hot 100 and No. 23 on CHR/Top 40.
"Back to Basics" has sold 1.6 million copies in the U.S. according to Nielsen SoundScan. Her previous effort, 2002's "Stripped," has shifted 4.1 million.
First, this seems to be a question from 2007 and there were no more singles more like because she was pregnant at that time. B2B left the BB 200 chart with 1,57 million and by the time this question's been asked it sold 1,6 m (so another 30k). The 4,1 million refers to Stripped.
And look, from the catalog chart:
