EXCLUSIVE: CIARA READIES NEW ALBUM

Ciara has been laying low as of late, but for good reason. The R&B singer is well into recording her fourth album and we’ve got the exclusive details.

Christopher “Tricky” Stewart and his songwriting partner The-Dream have been secretly spending the summer in the studio producing the entire follow-up to Ciara’s Fantasy Ride. Stewart broke the news to Rap-Up.com in an exclusive interview. “We’re doing the whole project,” he reveals. “We’re pretty good into it at this point. We’re about 14 songs deep right now.”

The 23-year-old ATLien relocated to the West Coast to work on the album with Tricky and Dream, who crafted “High Price” and “Like a Surgeon” off this year’s Fantasy Ride. “She came out to L.A. to work with us. We’re out here making this record ’cause it feels good and the vibe is good,” says the Grammy-winning producer.

The as-yet-untitled effort will feature danceable tracks that have become Ciara’s signature. “This record obviously is gonna have tempo to it, but I think it’s gonna have even more substance than the last record,” Tricky discloses. “She dances and we always want to bring out what she does that other people don’t.”

Although Fantasy Ride boasted collaborations with a who’s who of the industry including Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown, and Ludacris, the “Love Sex Magic” singer will be riding solo this time. “This album we wanted to take a few steps back and make it more about her, so the only feature is Dream. But the features that we do on this record will be remixes.”

The hitmaker even shared a couple song titles with Rap-Up.com. “I love ‘Speechless.’ I love this record called ‘Gifted.’ Those are two of my favorites. ‘Speechless’ is the record with her and Dream together.”

While there’s still the possibility of a release by the end of the year, it’s looking like 2010 will mark Super C’s return. “It’s a little up in the air, but there’s a chance that it might come this year. That was the goal, but at the same time, we didn’t want to rush anything. I think it’s looking more like a next year thing.”

Ciara is pulling out all the stops to make this her best work yet. “Right now, she’s on her grind, coming back, trying to make a better album than she made last time and get back to that mark where everybody knew that she was in the top tier of the female business.”

Tricky that's very risky!

I really don't like his productions so I'm afraid this album will be even worse than The Fantasy Ride!

FINALLY some official news.
But The Dream and Tricky doing a whole album (14 tracks already and not finished, hardly leaves space for any other producers) does not seem exciting to me in the least. Mariah's is coming out now and let's face it, they are not the most diverse/creative producers out there, so I fear Cici's record will be very samey and bland in parts.

And no features? WTF?! Ciara's best tracks are her collabos, her voice and other people's raps mesh so well together, this type of music, especially this type of music. :/

Well this is exciting...now we now why she has been in LA. I like alot of what the dream does, its always very danceable/mainstream and well produced. Hopefully it will be alot like 'Electrik reds' album bc I know he did all of that. & I think its a smart move to concentrate on just Cici and keep the other artists that appear as remixes.

Now my only question is how long we have to wait for new music......The timing of this needs to be perfect.
MJ - the originator - you will be missed. :'(

i think she should not start working on a new era if "Fantasy Ride" was promoted in a right way from label part, had better single-choices, Ciara made more promotion from her part. It is one of best urban contemporary album of this year and was such a big flop especially in the US

Obviously I knew about the Late 09/ Early 10 album, but the whole album being Tricky/Dream is news to me and contradicts the other news I was told. :-?

I pray to God that Rap-Up is wrong/Tricky is exagerating and we will see other producers on there :D

If it's anything similar to the production on MOAIA then I'm excited for this Ciara album.

Lets hope it stays locked up tight because the leaks and false start dates killed Fantasy Ride album.

What's up with all the rush releases? I'd prefer her going away for a while and then come back with a smash single.

She is not serious!!!
After what The Dream and Tricky did with Mariah's album?????...HELL NO!!!
Word around town is that Jive Records was threatening to drop her because of the embarrasing performance of FANTASY RIDE. She has a 5 album deal with Jive, and it was confirmed that they will NOT renew her contract after this album. So she better impress her label if she wants to stay at Jive Records. And frankly, she wont be as huge without JIVE RECORDS. They and J RECORDS are the only Record labels left that still pay big bucks for old fashioned promotion, and that promotes a project till a 4th single. Geffen, Interscope, Epic and the others are saving costs, at all costs!

I like the sound of this. Hopefully he'll give her a few crazy bangers though. Fantasy Ride was too slow.

I think this album will be less Pop and more Uptempo dance tracks, I just pray they get the singles right. I want them to pick them in order once recording has finished.

I also think she should release in the US first and then WW a couple months later.
