Ellie Goulding is currently working on her debut album, which is due out on 7th June 2010. [Edit: New release date = 1st March 2010]!

According to DigitalSpy, she's been working with Starsmith and Frankmusik.

How's the album coming along?

"It's getting there. I've done eight songs with Starsmith and one with Frankmusik, who I met through MySpace - he's just the nicest guy. I'm at the point now where I'm feeling a bit scared because I'd hate for my album to be slightly less good than it could be. Everything's so unpredictable at the moment, isn't it? I could write the most amazing album in the world and everyone could just download it illegally. We'll see!"
Personally, I can't wait for this! I saw her support Little Boots back in October and she's terrific live, now she's winning the Critics Choice Award at The Brits and is majorly hyped r.e. the BBC Sound 2010 poll, which is much deserved IMO! (Hopefully it bodes well). Probably my most anticipated album for 2010! :D

I like her but I think a whole album may be a bit boring.

I strangely like that album cover as it is - Not Final Artwork would be a cool title.

Totally agree - I like Wish I Stayed but Under The Sheets grated on me after about two weeks of it premiering so I never downloaded it. I'll see what Starry Eyed is like before I think of purchashing the album.

JUNE! No no no no no no no! This is where Little Boots titzed up, got the big award for critical acclaim, got everyone hyped, and then released the album when it all fizzled out.

I reckon step on it, fire up the engines and knuckle down to work for an early march release with a single in early feb.

Ellie Goulding has announced that her debut album Lights will be released on March 1.

The LP from the Brit Awards 2010 Critics' Choice winner will be preceded by single 'Starry Eyed' on February 22, NME reports.

Goulding said: "I spent the majority of my time recording this album in my producer Starsmith's bedroom in Bromley.

"It is made up of songs that all started on a guitar over a period of about two years. A number of the songs vent romantic victories and failures."

She added: "One of the first songs I ever wrote, 'Wish I Stayed', is there, a song about leaving the countryside, which still pains me.

"The acceptance of living in London and attaining peace of mind led to tracks like 'Starry Eyed', because I could finally write something more fun."

Other tracks to feature on the release are 'Under The Sheets', 'Guns And Horses', 'The Writer' and 'Every Time You Go'.

I love her voice. If she gets one big hit she'll have massive success with the album so lets hope. Starry Eyed sounds great though :D
