Yeah I agree. Both were playing really safe. Murray wasn't playing his game, he should've payed no notice of who was across the net, and just did his thing. Instead he played a lot of safe balls.

It didn't make for terribly interesting tennis.

Quotes from the 2010 Australian Open:

Journalist wrote: How did you improve your game in the off season?
Venus Williams wrote: (Laughter.) You know, there are a couple things here, couple things, da, da, da, da, here, da, da, da, there. And then you know it was like, da, da, da, da.
---- ----

Maria Kirilenko on Sharapova's dress:

Maria Kirilenko wrote:It was blue, I think, like Powerade.
---- ----

Safina on cooking:

Dinara Safina wrote:I'm just starting [to learn to cook], you know. Until now nobody got sick, so this is the positive (smiling). They might like, not like, but if they have problems with the stomach, it's not good. But until now, nobody would complain about the stomach.
---- ----

Journalist wrote:Last time we saw you in a Grand Slam, there was that little incident in New York. How is your anger management coming along?
Serena Williams wrote: Was it anger management, do you think? How is your writing coming along?
Journalist wrote:Just fine, thank you
Serena Williams wrote:Great. Ditto, kiddo.
---- ----

Journalist wrote: When you talk with your team after a win like tonight, do you smile more? Do you have a voice which sounds more happy than now? Now you talk almost like you lost.
Andy Murray wrote: Have you ever sat in this seat before? I mean, last year I played 80 odd matches and we do a press conference after every single match. We do one before every tournament. More for other bits and pieces.
Journalist wrote:It's very boring
Andy Murray wrote: Well, I don't know (smiling). You just get used to doing it. I don't get excited about doing them anymore.
Press Conference Moderator wrote: That's lucky because this one's over.
---- ----

Nikolay Davydenko on drinking:

Nikolay Davydenko wrote:No, I don't drink really. I don't drink so much because, you see, I'm skinny. I mix only. Sometimes I drink clear vodka, sometimes mixed with Red Bull. Little bit get power in night club or disco.
Nikolay Davydenko on celebrity:

Nikolay Davydenko wrote:I am not Paris Hilton. I don't want to be like this. I don't want to be like Nadal, Federer. These guys I never see by breakfast. They stay in the room and take room service. For me better go downstairs, you know, take breakfast, or dinner to go somewhere, not to be so much famous.

I have to agree that it was a dissapointing final. I expected better gameplay from both players. but i have to admit that the tie-breaker was exciting!

Despite some of the upsets in the tournament the #1 seeds won the Men's singles, Women's singles, Men's doubles and Mixed doubles!!

Venus & Serena were only #2 seeds in the Women's doubles but they would be #1 if they played doubles more

I thought it was very classless of Federer to carry on the way he did during his speech. He was just adding salt to the wound.

He's always been a tool though. Before the 2009 AO, Andy Murray was the favourite, for some reason, and Roger did not like.

Roger Federer, 14 January 2009 wrote:He's the favourite?

Good for him. It won't help him a whole lot. I've been in that position before and didn't make it. It surprises me that the bookies would say that because he hasn't won a Slam yet.

Novak Djokovic won here last year. Rafa had an incredible season last year. I won the last Slam of last season so it is surprising.
Andy came out after and said, 'Federer wants to be the faovurite, so he can be' in more or less words.

Andy Murray has a lot of work still to do to win Grand Slam.

Seems the predicted demise of Roger Federer is a bit premature. 16 grand slam titles now. Hopefully Andy Murray will learn and improve his game to take the next step.

i don't give him much of a chance at the french and i can only see him winning wimbledon if he doesn't have to face federer somehow...

US open though, i think he's got a giant shot :D :D

synthetic ground seems perfect for Murray. So US open is his biggest chance for Grand Slam.
