No, Quiche is queen of UK R&B!
Choice of producers and collaborators doesn't necessarily restrict her genre-wise.

How can it be said this will be a pop album? She's been working in LA, rumoured to be working with the likes of Ne-Yo! I predict it will be heavily urban with bits of pop!

There's been nothing official about Ne-Yo. The only definite collaborator is Cathy so for now we can assume it'll be a reasoanbly poppy affair.

I'd like to see her just work with one or two producers, make it a really coherent, flowing album. I just want it to be great, not the usual pop crap, 1 great song, couple of good ones for future singles, a few average ones, and filled up with crap.

I'd like to see her make a bit of a classic, with a string of hits.

Former Sugababes star Keisha Buchanan is in talks to sign up with Jay-Z's Roc Nation label, a report has claimed.

The news comes following rumours that her ex-bandmates have been quietly dropped by the US record company, with whom they signed a deal in early 2009.

Buchanan has been busy working on a solo album in recent months after being ousted from Sugababes last September.

A source told The Mirror: "Jay is serious about getting her on board. They hit it off at the Brits after-party in London."

On Sugababes' current woes, the insider added: "Keisha will be gutted that things have not worked out so well for the band she helped create."

Sugababes' latest album Sweet 7 failed to crack the top ten following its release last week.

I bloody don't. She doesn't need US producers to make a decent album. I doubt Roc Nation are interested anyway but hopefully she'll just give us something decent and British-sounding.

I agree tbf. They meddled with the Sugababes and horrifically altered their sound.

Oh yeah they seemed to get on well whilst recording for taller in more ways. This is all very exciting, she was growing soo much vocally in the last few albums and the people she's working with are all great!

Seems that Keisha's making a follow up to TIMW in my opinion. Not the best Sugababes album (that belongs to Three), but catchy as hell.

This thread really belongs in the pop forum. Dallas Austin + Cathy Dennis + Calvin Harris = POP PERFECTION. All I need now is William Orbit.

Keisha on Strictly?
Former Sugababes singer Keisha Buchanan is said to be considering an offer to appear on 'Strictly Come Dancing'. The former Sugababes singer - who is currently working on her debut solo LP - is said to be "seriously considering" an offer to appear on the BBC1 celebrity dance contest but is unsure whether she can fit it into her schedule.

A source said: "Keisha is recording solo material in Los Angeles and has deals on the table including music, a book, and 'Strictly'.

"It's simply a case of deciding what is the right next move."

However, insiders expect the 25-year-old singer - who was replaced in Sugababes by Jade Ewen last September amid accusations she had bullied bandmates Amelle Berrabah and Heidi Range - to sign up for the show after seeing how it transformed the career of Alesha Dixon, who is now one of the programme's judges after winning the competition in 2007.

Another source said: "Keisha was thrilled when asked to be part of the show. But she is a little apprehensive.

"In the Sugababes, it was all about the singing. They never really danced. So the training would be really hard for her.

"Her pal Alesha Dixon saw her solo career really take off after 'Strictly' and she's hoping that it could help her, too.

"She has so much on, it depends on whether she can fit it all in. But she is seriously keen. It's one of the only reality shows she would ever consider."

Sugababe Keisha Buchanan set for Strictly Come Dancing

Former Sugababe Keisha Buchanan has been lined up for the next Strictly Come Dancing.

Beeb bosses have approached the singer, who is in LA laying down tracks with Dallas Austin for her solo album. And we hear Keisha, 25, is keen to take on the challenge.

A pal tells us: "Keisha was thrilled when asked to be part of the show. But she is a little apprehensive.

"In the Sugababes, it was all about the singing. They never really danced. So the training would be really hard for her.

"Her pal Alesha Dixon saw her solo career really take off after Strictly and she's hoping that it could help her, too. "She has so much on, it depends on whether she can fit it all in. "But she is seriously keen. It's one of the only reality shows she would ever consider."

OMG Yes! Strictly is a perfect launch pad for her. She needs to go on it, dance her little tushy off and just be very nice and smiley and likeable.

I think she's gonna be very similar to Jamelia. Pop with an urban twist.

I think it's been assumed she's going down the R&B route by her skin colour and her previous solo outings. Don't assume. Even working with Ne-Yo doesn't mean R&B. Look at Closer. That was more Pop than R&B.
