You're welcome. I know it sounds like I'm slamming her big time, but if I didn't like her I wouldn't have gone to the concert, would I? I'm just being dead-honest about the impression it left on me. It's only an opinion, of course.

It's not like RiRi ruined my evening or that I want my money back. Like I said, her vocals were pretty consistent and I still had a great night with my friends, we sang and danced all the time.

Thank God she performed Fire Bomb.

A bit dissapointed that she didn't perform Cold Case Love, especially since it's one of the closest songs on the album to her, but I guess it may still be a little bit emotionally difficult for her to sing. I'm sure we'll get a performance of it some time down the line.

I like the setlist overall. The flow is a bit strange and unusual at times, but a good selection of songs. She really loves Let Me, doesn't she?

Thanks Frederic for the review! :D

I'm glad you guys appreciate! You're welcome.

I agree about Let Me, so random! It's the only non-Rated R album track apart from Breakin' Dishes that she performed.

Sorry you didn't have a good time Frederic... I hope the tour improves as it goes along, my ticket arrived today!

It's a shame that "Rude Boy" isn't in the encore and that "Wait Your Turn" isn't the opener but apart from that, that's a pretty AWESOME set list... all of my favourite "Rated R" tracks are there!

AND YES, YES, YES @ "Breakin' Dishes", so happy about that! Really surprised "Let Me" is there but I'm not disappointed, it should have been a single and is one of the best songs on "Music Of The Sun". Only a couple of singles missing but I kinda guessed we wouldn't get "We Ride" (which I adore), "If It's Lovin' That You Want" (and I guess "If I Never See Your Face Again" too).
"This time I'm gonna get it right. I'm gonna paint my face like the Guggenheim!"

The outfit is about the only thing good going on in that video. She's so lazy.

Frederic wrote:Okay, so Tinchy Stryder was NOT the supporting act (some random DJ was). It's sad how someone loves to make this kinda stuff up.

I'm going to tell you already, I was properly disappointed:

VOCALS
Her vocals weren't as bad as I expected them to be, but she clearly omitted the difficult parts and even forgot some of the lyrics. I could even notice a backing track during some of the songs (Don't Stop The Music for example).

Also, they ruined some songs by using rockier versions of it (Rude Boy and S.O.S. especially).

SHOW AND SPECIAL EFFECTS
I couldn't almost believe it, but the choreography (if any) was really poor. There were only a couple of dancers, which didn't impress me. Rihanna barely danced herself as well...

They used a car for the Shut Up & Drive/Fire Bomb performances and some huge monsters for Disturbia but honestly, it's not that creative and it's been used a million times already. I did like her dancing in the cage during Don't Stop The Music though.

OUTFITS
I don't know whether this is really her style, but the outfits look like she's just picked them from Lady Gaga's wardrobe. My friend, a HUGE Rihanna fan even said so.

INTERACTION
Same old story, "Hi Antwerp, are you having fun? I'm having a blast" etc etc. Funny thing is, it seemed to me she didn't like being on stage at all. She came across rather moody and barely smiled.

I hate giving negative reviews but I couldn't help but feel disappointed. Now that I've seen her live, I'm starting to doubt her talent as an artist.
I've also expected a little bit more from her.
You're absolutely right about her vocals, she skipped most of the difficult or fast parts.

The outfits did have Gaga written on it, but it seems that every artists nowaday get the blame of copying Gaga

Positive:
* Vocals improved
* She was alot more secure than her previous concert in Belgium

Negative:
* Rihanna, when will you start dancing?
* Interaction was very very poor
* The sound set up of the arena was poor
* Very personal: I really wanted G4L in the setlist.

Seems like we agree with each other! The sound set up was horrible indeed, you'd expect more from the 'famous' Sportpaleis.

It bugs me how most fans just say the show was amazing but aren't able to elaborate why it was.

Most of the times, it's horrible! Last year I went to Alicia Keys, and she sounded like a chip'n'dale!!

LOL! At the end of the concert yesterday, Rihanna was naming her musicians and dancers but you just couldn't understand her because of the music playing.
