Reggae Sumfest organiser Johnny Gourzong has expressed pleasure at having international R&B star Usher as the headline act on International Night II, Saturday, July 24 and agreed that Usher's performance would certainly go down as one of the best in the entire 18-year history of Reggae Sumfest.
"Despite the rain, Usher pulled out the crowd on Saturday night ... and he is so easy to work with," the Summerfest director disclosed.

"You know, there are some international acts who are just so difficult to host. They want to leave the island as soon as the show ends; well ...not Usher. He stayed on and he has had a great time in Jamaica. He likes ox-tail and jerk chicken and he was just enjoying the island."
According to Gourzong, Usher and headline act for International Night I, US singer Chris Brown, recorded a song together at a studio in Montego Bay last Saturday and on Sunday, Usher and his friends partied the night away at Pier One in the second city.
"He said he wanted to go somewhere local and we took him to Pier One where he danced up a storm," Gourzong said, sounding delighted.
"Usher was teaching Robert (Russell) some dance moves and Robert in turn was teaching him some of our moves. I can't really say how that one worked out," Gourzong laughed.
"And it was a pleasure having Chris Brown as well. It was great to have them both on stage on Saturday night. That was a first," Gourzong added.

Exclusive: Songwriter Rico Love Talks Chris Brown’s “Amazing” Songwriting Progress
Anyone familiar with Chris Brown knows him as a singer and gifted dancer, but what some may not know is he’s blossoming into quite the songwriter.
The R&B star has co-penned many of his own hit singles, including the international smash “Forever,” and wrote his ex-girlfriend Rihanna’s No. 1 single, “Disturbia.”
Hit-making songwriter Rico Love, who’s penned tunes for Brown, Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, Diddy, and Usher, thinks Breezy is a wordsmith to watch out for. “He’s one of the dopest singer/songwriters that I’ve [seen],” Love told NeonLimelight.com in a phone interview yesterday (July 8). “He’s just realizing how dope his pen is. It’s amazing to me.”
Love noted songwriting is a talent Brown has always wanted to showcase, but has only recently begun pushing it to the forefront as he’s developed.
“I remember on his first album when he was 15 years old he was writing, but he just kept on developing and becoming better and getting more innovative and coming up with bigger and better ideas. I’ve seen his progress and it’s amazing.”
Another area where Brown seems to be making progress is winning back supporters after a tumultuous year. His emotional tribute to Michael Jackson in which he broke down in tears while trying to sing “Man In The Mirror” at this year’s BET Awards has been viewed as a turning point to many critics.
Love, who co-wrote “Lucky Me” on Brown’s last album, Graffiti, says Breezy played some new songs he’s written for him when they were in a Los Angeles studio together yesterday morning. While he doesn’t know for sure if those songs were for a new album, Love thinks Brown should focus on “writing hit records” and pass on making any more apology songs — “Unless he wants to,” he said.

Chris Brown broke the news to his fans early this morning that he is currently working on a new project with singer Keyshia Cole. There is no word as to whether the duo were working on something for Brown’s next studio release or Cole’s album which will hit stores later this year. Last month, That Grape Juice reported that Brown has logged some studio time with Young Money rapper Drake.
While many might be confused about how a Brown/Cole collaboration will sound, they simply have to reflect on what he did with Tank on the song ‘Take My Time’ from his under-appreciated ‘Graffiti’ album. Brown is a versatile artist and while his technique is a bit rough, he certainly has a lot of potential for growth unlike certain other acts who are currently popular on the charts.
