I think she's waiting for an empty slot in the release schedule before she plans more? If she were to debut her first single anytime soon she'd have to compete with some big names; Kylie, Christina, Diana, Britney possibly. If she waited till the end of 2010 it probably will be a bit relaxed.

Waiting until the end of the year would be a disaster.
It means she'd be promoting her album and singles until probably mid-2011, meaning no new GA until end of next year, possibly not even until 2012.
I would not be amused.

No, she's simply not done recording. If she was ready, I'm sure she'd be planning - if her material is good she could take any of them names.

She's most likely waiting for an X Factor performance slot to pop up.

She looks scary right now :-? She's probably having some issues, cause she's horribly skinny. I hope she puts on some weight as soon as possible. I am excited to hear what her solo material will be like. She's got a great voice

Anyone for an Olympic reunion? I am starting to think that will be the earliest GA will come back.

I'm more concerned about what's happened to her bloody album - just get it out there, woman!

According to PJ himself and a reliable poster breakfast2, Nadine's deal with Geffen fell through.

Also, she has apparently recorded Jade Ewen's left over track Wake Up.

Nadine needs to fire her manager because her album is starting to look like a hot mess.

She's done a butt load of recording so I'm agreeing with a poster from PJ as well in saying that maybe she doesn't have a clearly defined idea of what she wants her album to be.
She has all the pop appeal from the G.A market but then she's also got the pipes to become a ballad queen. I think she and her team are deciding where exactly she fits in the market and Cheryl's success has probably narrowed the margins a little.
If Nadine had been first to release a solo effort I think it could've been a lot easier but now she has to differentiate between not only her group but also her fellow bandmate's output.

Finally some news ?

"Nadine Coyle will release her debut album in November, reports say.

The Girls Aloud singer, who has been working on the record since the group announced their hiatus last year, will release the LP by the end of the year, The Mirror reports.

A source said: "William Orbit's produced the majority of it and the results are great. She's got some huge pop songs. Some of them even Tina Turner-esque."

Earlier this year, Coyle asked fans for input on the album via Twitter, asking whether the lead single should be a laid back or upbeat number.

It was reported last week that Girls Aloud are considering reuniting next year without Coyle."

Who can say huh ?
But William Orbit and Nads sounds like an interesting mix.

"Tine Turner-esque" hell no. An album full of Nadine ballads would be tiresome to sit through.

William Orbit's new stuff with Katie Melua was quite brilliant though, but his music doesn't have the excitement of a Xenomania production. I always imagined Nadine to belt out some loud electro pop music. :(

New Nads News!
The Prophet helps shed some light...

Nadine Coyle aka ‘the member of Girls Aloud who isn’t Cheryl Cole ‘, will reportedly release her first solo single this September, followed by her debut album in November. Even better, Pop Justice are saying that Nadine’s solo stuff is actually sounding quite good. OK, generally whenever Pop Justice say something is good then you automatically know that it’s unbelievably horrible, but the Nadine gushing came from one of their sources and not them directly, so it’s probably true.

[I recently] got to hear 3 of Nadines tracks [and] all 3 of the tracks are potential singles and suprisingly VERY good. I was a bit of a GA fan, but up until now had no interest in any of Nadines solo plans.

One track was something about a person being insatiable and it was quite catchy. The 2nd track was possibly called ‘Changed / Change Me’ and it was my favourite. The 3rd was a William Orbit track and it had elements of ‘Untouchable’ moments. It was a bit more ballady than the other 2, but it was definetly not a slow love song. It was quite nice but the 2nd track was the one that I could visualise hearing on the radio.

The expected? Very big vocals from Nadine. The unexpected for me? I think I will actually really like solo Nadine. She is pretty damn good. [source]

Besides the always amazing William Orbit, Nadine has also recorded with Tiesto, Tony Kanal, Toby Gad and many more. Nadine doesn’t have the Cheryl machine behind her, so I’m not expecting any big plans to conquer the States, but I’m dying to see how she’ll do in the UK and Europe in the wake of the Cheryl Cole takeover.

Speaking of CC, the maleria-ridden lass is now back in the studio recording her sophomore album.
Nadine may just shock everyone and release a banging up tempo as her first single :o
Should be interesting to see what happens when/if Nads and Chezza have to SHARE the charts solo...

I REALLY hope so.
I dont want it to be cheapo, vile, electro-pop, against a white backdrop, music though.

I want summery, Sheryl Crow, style music.

Make the most of the landscape around L.A to shoot the video.

Soon you’ll be able to get your hands on Nadine Coyle… in Tesco.

The Girls Aloud star, who jetted over to the UK earlier this week, has just inked a deal which will see her selling her new solo album exclusively in the supermarket chain.

The deal will mean the Nadine will get 100% control over what goes on the album, a source said:

Tesco will sell her album exclusively to their customers and it won’t be available anywhere else, and being able to work on the music that she wants was the main reason for going with Tesco.”

“She’s decided who she’s wanted to work with from the start. She’s in control of every single decision – from the writers, the producers and the collaborators – and wants to produce her dream album. She didn’t want to be a puppet for a record company.

So far Nadine has worked with Guy Chambers, William Orbit and singer songwriter Lucie Silva on her new album.

Here's what The Prophet had to say about this rather "unique" situation...

Girls Aloud star Nadine Coyle has remained tight-lipped over just exactly which label she’s planning to release her long-awaited solo album on, but finally the lid has been lifted on the mystery and Nadine’s new label has been revealed… as Tesco. If you don’t know, Tesco are a huge supermarket/retail giant who are based in the United Kingdom, but they have stores all across the world.

Apparently, the main reason behind this move was so Nadine could retain 100% creative control over her new album — something that signing with a major wouldn’t allow her.

“Tesco will sell her album exclusively to their customers and it won’t be available anywhere else, and being able to work on the music that she wants was the main reason for going with Tesco.”

“She’s decided who she’s wanted to work with from the start. She’s in control of every single decision – from the writers, the producers and the collaborators – and wants to produce her dream album. She didn’t want to be a puppet for a record company.”

“She’s planning a year of publicity, performing on her own and creating a brand for herself,” adds the source. [Via The Mirror]

Now, before you go and roll your eyes and think that Nadine has made the biggest mistake of her life by signing a record deal with a supermarket, hear me out: Tesco are not only the fourth biggest retailer in the world, but they’re the biggest grocer in Britain, which is Nadine’s target market. They sell physical music in their stores, but they’ve also got their own extremely successful digital music store as part of their Tesco Entertainment brand. In addition to Tesco Entertainment, they’ve also got their own mobile phone service, Tesco Mobile, and we all know how big music is on phones these days. They’ve even got their own bank and petrol station, which gives you an idea of just how much of a stranglehold they must have over the UK.

With Tesco being so successful in all the business avenues that they’ve explored so far, they’re definitely going to want to continue that streal with their record label, and with Nadine being a member of Britain’s biggest girl group, and Tesco being Britain’s biggest grocer… Well, put two and two together. Promotion, people.

Nadine is always going to be the Jan to Cheryl’s Marcia Marcia Marcia, and sidekicks never step out of the superheroes shadow without stepping outside of the box first, so what better way for Nadine to do that than by signing a very innovative and forward-thinking record/distribution deal that caters to the future of the music industry, and not the past? Think of Kelly Rowland as an example: Rowland’s attempt at Beyonce-style mainstream R&B didn’t go down to well, but once she started recording dance music she suddenly became an international solo star and one of the very first American artists to latch onto the now inescapable dance trend.

Nadine can either do exactly what Cheryl is doing and get lost in the crowd, or she can take a chance and try something different. If Nadine’s music is as good and bold as her business sense, then she could end up getting a lot of respect — and success — out of this new deal.
I guess I can see the merit behind it.
Tesco are obviously going to promote something they have a vested interest where as a label would only want to buy in on and fund something they see as "commercially viable".
Hopefully it allows Nadine creative control on her project and bring out music that she loves and believes and just doesn't come off looking low rent and desperate.
She has the talent so fingers crossed it shines through and allows her a chance in the solo spotlight.
Happy endings are just stories that haven't finished yet...

So she's actually signed to Tesco? :o I thought they were just the exclusive distributors of the album. It's quite an interesting move though. As long as she is also on Itunes she should be grand.

ye thats what i was thinking. it might actually be a smart move, but i hope they release her music on itunes too, it would be wierd if it wasnt.
I can imagine she'll get a big promotional campaign too from Tesco. 7will be interesting to see how this works out.

Well they're not a reliable source whatsoever, but if they're right then I don't know what to think about this. It might help her sell albums, but in the long-run if lots of artists follow suit, do we really want the music market controlled by the supermarkets even more?

I think it's more of the case of Tesco just being the exclusive distributor.

PS. Can you stop posting the Prophet Blog? If I wanted to read a bitter queen's opinion then I'd read Perez.
