When it comes to all things general Kylie this is the place to be.

With a music career spanning 23 years, there should be plenty to talk about!

Been getting into her indie period a lot more lately especially "Where Is The Feeling" and "Where The Wild Roses Grow" - both of which were well received critically but not the big chart hits she was used to.

I hope one day she retouches on the deConstruction era as it provided some of her career highlights such as "Confide In Me", "Some Kind Of Bliss" and "Did It Again".

I appreciate her music from the Deconstruction era a lot more than the guff she pushes out these days. 'Confide In Me' is still her best song so far... I doubt she'll change my mind about that any time soon. She's been stuck in a dance-orientated phase for more than a decade now & it's become boring. I wish she'd open her heart a bit more in her songs - I have respect for the woman as a person but not so much as a musician.

I know what you mean, but I feel like she purposely sticks with the pop/dance genre because she thinks it's what the fans want from her, she's great at it and it's what she's historically most famous for. Though at this stage in her career I really think she can afford to experiment and deviate more from that.

I think she needs a baby  I can't imagine her bopping along to yet another song about dancing in a club after she's popped one out from betwixt her legs.

I get what you mean about supply & demand, as it were, but she could easily gain a new respect from her hardcore fans & a whole new spectrum of admirers if she did, say, an acoustic album or something different.

Even when she flops flat on her backside Madonna still breaks the mould with almost every album. Seeing as Kylie's careers spans as many decades as hers, surely she could manage more than 3 stylistic transitions.

She probably does need a kid, then we might get Mother Earth Kylie and something reminiscent of "Ray Of Light"!

Right, maybe this is the right time and place to discuss this!

Does anyone agree with me that this track, by Erasure:

Sounds like this track, by Kylie:

The choruses sound the same to me.

Maybe my ears are playing tricks on me!
They did not sell many, but they were one of the best - God save the Kinks!

I love Kylie since my childhood!
I may be the only one on this opinion, but I think her dance/pop tracks suit her better than the indie and experimental stuff from the 90s.

I think Aphrodite is her best album so far, and don't think she'll be able to top it for a while. :D Can't wait for the world tour!

I can never decide if I like Kylie or not... I quite like her Late 80s-Mid 90s songs but ever since she came back in the early 00s she's been very meh at times...

Without the "Fever" era, specifically "CGYOOMH" she wouldn't be as big as she is today!

true! And the quality of this "pop/dance" album proves she's great singer. Shame her last LPs are far from being "fever"-making.

I actually think Fever is a good album, but there's only so much Pop/Dance I can stomache!

I think the problem Kylie has now, and don't hate me for this, is that 95% of her fans are gay guys and I don't think that's enough to get her another #1,

I'm not sure girls are fans in particular anymore, they don't really relate to her, I don't think she's disliked necessarily, but I think a lot of girls would be indifferent about her. Plus I think younger girls (who probably buy more music) have younger roll models now.

She makes music for gay men, but maybe I'm just stereotyping.

I think girls still buy her records, though I agree with you she doesn't have the same marketability she did 8-10 years ago for that audience. She's still popular for women in their 20s and 30s mind.

At her concerts the crowd is very mixed - lots of gay men, lots of couples, lots of families (some even with small kids) and the odd straight guy with a female friend  so she still has widespread appeal there at least.

My favourite Kylie phase was Light Years, since it was what made a fan. For me On A Night Like This is her best song and video, and I also love Please Stay, very underrated.

Argh dunno what to do, there's seats available for Monday 4th April at the MEN and they've got lower tier about 3 blocks back - I'm usually on the block closest to the stage so it'd the worst seats I've had for her... but I dunno whether to buy them and have tickets or whether to hang on for either more dates (not sure how likely that is now) or get them last minute on eBay and hope someone is selling them cheap to try and get rid.

I LOVE the deCo era! The two albums she had with the label were utter masterpieces. This era truly was influential in her musical and personal life, you can tell.

Actually her albums of the last decade were great. Fever and Body Language are the best, and I love X. I think that was a great album. "All I See" was the closest she could get to having another "Can't Get You Out of My Head", but sadly it didn't happen.

Aphrodite is only good, I find. It doesn't quite deserving of all the glowing reviews it's gained... but well. People seem to favor her more when she makes that kind of music. I really would like her to inject some personal stuff on future releases. She is a great songwriter too, really.

I've never cared for Kylie Minogue until recently, none of her singles or albums have interested me at all. Except a few...

I am still deeply in love with I Believe In You much thanks to a teenage love affair, the girl I was with back then had every album - and I fell in love with just this track. So I still have a close connection with the track, a Vindrag retro classic 8-)

But then I dont remember even thinking about Kylie until VH1 began to play In My Arms several times a day... After being annoyed the 2 Hearts song was a Goldfrapp copy, I couldnt help but purchase IMA and it went immediatly to #1 on my personal charts! :D A big hit which I still enjoy.

Then we have The One (Freemasons remix) which also got to #1 but didnt stay for as many weeks - this track have a very tragic history for me. But most important it's a great tune.

And now with the new era, I like All The Lovers - feels like being back in the 90's, but I think I prefer Get Outta My Way even more

So... that's the only Kylie songs I personally enjoy, and I've noticed just this weekend she also has a personality which I like too.

Oh... and that weirdo song is also fun from the X album...Nu-di-ty I think. I first heard it because she fell on stage on some youtube clip performing that track.. Sounds fun! 8-)
