Music (Video Games)

I could not find a thread where we could post and discuss our favourite music themes from video games. It might be a bit childish for many, but I enjoy listening to this type of music when I'm not playing as well.

So, it would be really fun if everyone could post in here about great music and preferably even post a youtube link or something so that everyone can listen!

Suikoden V - Recollection (Norikazu Miura)

I played Suikoden 1 & 2 together with my childhood friend who is no longer with us. The plots in Suikoden games are always very sad, somehow. Best friends destinied to fight each others, or brother and sister... So the music does an amazing job in representing the grief of having to do this. Especially some tunes which I'll never forget.

And now when playing number 5 in the series, I cant help but feeling all this sadness coming over me again, like back in the days - only thing is, that I'm alone feeling it this time.

Damn the composers to Suikoden.. they always manage to make me so blue. But somehow it's quite good, it helps the creativity to flow.

I never was a proper fan of jpop but the music on Persona 3 & 4 (which is jpop) are so great and really make the game a better experience than it already is! 8-)

I love some game music, particularly the music from two of my favourite games - Monkey Island and Grim Fandango, the latter of which I have the soundtrack for.

final fantasy 7, the music is stunning, especially midgar and nibelheim.

I really loved (ashamedly) the tune for the underwater levels in Mario 64.

Also the music from Zelda and the Ocarina of time, loved those tunes!

OH MY GOD! YES! The Ocarina melodies from Zelda were amazing and so nostalgic for me now! I from time to time still like to hum Zeldas Lullaby & Epona's one! :oops:

And yes the music from the Final Fantasy games is absolutely epic the games just wouldn't be the same without it! 8-)

I've never liked the fact that the music (and game too) from Final Fantasy always been more comercially succesful and have overshadowed the beauty of the Suikoden series. Shame really.

But it's great in another aspect cause it makes me feel that those series belong more to me

I really liked the music on "Heavy Rain". It sets the mood on the game. It's really well done, beautiful and haunting at the same time.

Everyone needs to play this game! One of the best games I've ever played! I loved Conker from Diddy Kong Racing and then they transformed him into this bad-ass character! Loved it! Un-expected twists everywhere, we were in constant shock when playing this!

I love Conkers Bad Fur Day, fantastic in every way!! :lol:

The Silent Hill music is also fab as is the game itself, still one of the creepiest games I've ever played No.1 that is!

This game was pre-installed on my New PC, it's one of those downloadable games, it's cute but I got bored of it quickly! :wink:

RPG's have some of the best soundtrack music ever, Final Fantasy 9 is my fave! 8-)
