Do you support the legalization of Marijuana?

Of course, it's organic!

When something's illegal it's more exciting and fun to try. It's a whole different experience.

Here, you can legally buy marijuana in the so-called coffee shops. And guess what? There's no fuss about it at all! Only by tourists of course. When I was younger, my parents never told me I couldn't try it, because they knew it would only make me more curiuous to try it. I've never even felt the urge to try it and so I never did. Some of my friends smoke every now and then and others don't. I don't know anyone who's addicted to it, personally. It's just no big deal.

My friends, and most people who use I think, do some occasionally. In the park on a hot Summer day or on a Saturdaynight every now and then.

I honestly think that other countries should follow the Dutch example, because there'd be no more crime around marijuana.

Agree Ben, I was surprised at how trouble-free Amsterdam was and how relaxed and nonplussed the locals were about drugs and sex. Holland seems to be a great place to live!

I can't believe so many people vote against legalizing.
I think they should all come visit Amsterdam for a day.

Not really a fair comparison because of legality and therefore, availability. A more reasonable comparison would be with other illegal substances.

Yes but 1/4 of adults have said they have used pot. Also Tobacco has been proven to KILL 1/3 of all the people who use it. Marijuana has adverse effects (as all drugs do) but not to the same extent. They are not even in the same league.

Don't get me wrong I don't do drugs, smoke or even drink I just think they have to be looked at evenly.

But how many of those 1/4 smoke it on a regular basis.
People who smoke cigarettes smoke them multiple times a day (generally) because they are so readily available to buy. It's not the same with weed, which is why I get annoyed with the whole fags/booze kills more argument. Yes but that is because they are so readily available to people.

people can become addicted to weed too, but because it's not available in shops it is unlikely (in the UK anyway) - and unlike cigarettes weed changes your mindset unlike fags.

I don't smoke fags so I wouldn't go one worse and smoke weed. I think it's a good idea to have them banned though, because unbanning them could cause people to become addicted to them which is worse.

I totally agree. It's kinda impossible to do that here in my country. It's a matter of culture, people in Holland is well educated, here no.

I smoke Marijuana sometimes when I go out, it's not a big deal. It's the same with cigarrettes, I really don't get how you could become an addict.

Don't fool yourselfs!
Marijuana in its raw form has medicinal properties. NOT smoking it.

It has already been proven that the sap from the Marijuana leaf and stem is beneficial for curing many ailments.
But when you dry the leaves and smoke it, it becomes a full on DRUG, with no medicinal benefits whatsoever! The calming effect of SMOKING maruana does not mean it is curing you from ailments, it is **** up your brain cells and weakening your lung elasticity.

So getting high from marijuana is the same as getting high from cocaine and herion! Which makes it a drug.
Here for Alicia Keys only.

Lots of talk about legalizing it in California at the moment. I'm sure it will happen soon.

I've smoked it for years, not massively, but moderately, and it's done me no harm. Moderation is key. The Netherlands have it right! Oh Amsterdam how I miss you! :(
Exactly! I've been on it for a year now but no more than 4 a month. It does amazing stuff to my level of creativity.

I want to die being able to say I've never touched an illegal substance.

A few friends of mine went to Glastonbury & bought some cannabis lollipops from this hippy-dippy shop there, even if they weren't real I didn't want to try it. Cannabis smells horrible, looks horrible & most of the people I know/knew who take/took it are horrible too!

I have only tried Cannabis once (and I was quite drunk at the time, I can't even remember what happened :o) my mum came back from Amsterdam the other week and got me a 'weed lolly'. I have no idea what it was made of but it tasted like phlegm. Vile.
