stop thats enough, we already brought celine into the other fault which admittedly was my fault... but nt madonna as well... that guy has a point... all this lamb hate on susan is ridiculuous... im a huge mariah stan and a subo stan... and clearly judging by subo's sales last yr she is gonna outsell mariah... but mariah been in the game for 20yrs now.... lets just hope subo can help direct some sales towards mimi for example.. both look familiar.. so when moms and dads are looking for subo's album hopefully they will stumble upon mimi's album as well... i think these two can really help each other...

no need for ironic messages here, okay?

I'm sure that - well, at least I expect - that everybody wants to have some peace in this messageboard

and to all the other folks talking about other "divas", please do so in their own threads, this is the place to talk about Mariah and her achievement ONLY.

mariah carey was released pre soundscan so the first week data is not available. don't forget it sold over 5m albums before ss was introduced. so technically it should be nearing that 10m border more and more daily... i hoped for her 20th they would rerelease the album to get sales of 10m so that mariah carey can join shania twain for having the most diamaond albums... don't forget shania's album is certified 12xplatinum but sold 6m as it was a double album... so mariah would be the female artist with the most 10m selling albums...

Mimi's debut was released before SoundScan started tracking sales.

MTV Unplugged EP opened with less than 100K, I think- but not totally sure.

With the HSN tie-in and such, Mimi's album could do OK- but I imagine SuBo's album will be the top-selling holiday-related title of the year. Mimi will have a lot of promo, but we've seen in the past that promo over the last decade-plus isn't Mimi's best pal in terms of the effect it has on sales.

Well even with three, she would tie Shania not supercede. I kind of hope for the same thing with Whitney. I want her second album re-released and re-certified 10x platinum so that she can have 3 diamond albums behind her debut and The Bodyguard.
"Take A Bow"... Rihanna's ONLY ballad to go #1 on the Hot 100 (also topped the R&B Chart)... Great deed for her most epic ballad!!!

I'm pretty sure the Billboard 200 leaked the week it debuted, so someone has to have it.

EDIT: Apparently it didn't chart, so I doubt anybody has the sales.

MC sold less than that before Soundscan, more like 3M so don't expect a Diamond certification anytime soon, unless of course they re-release the album with some nice bonus stuff and promotion so the sales are significantly higher to take it's shipments up to 10M

If I remember correctly, "MTV Unplugged" debuted with 85,000 copies

As for her promo, well... it played a huge part in TEOM's success, the problem with E=MC² and MOAIA was not the promo schedule itself but yes how this schedule was made and more important the singles choices they did. Specially in E=MC² she had a great promo line-up but if TMB was already a weak song for the first single, BB was a total disastrous choice and the fact that she did heavy promo on the first 1 or 2 weeks and kinda disappeared for a long time after that was not very good

Song just premiered on AOL!

http://www.popeater.com/2010/10/01/mari ... -premiere/

It's way better than I expected, very uptempo and I can easily see this playing in ALL radio formats! It would be so cool if she could have a high peak on the Hot 100 with this one + AIWFCIY re-entering because of the new version :D

OMG! it's an awesome track, very Xmas but rhythmic as well. I guess this album will be one of very few holiday Xmas that will be worth buying. Personally i don't wanna listen still same old cliché Xmas song, this one is fresh.
However i feel this album ain't gonna defo reach by far the sales of SuBo or last year's AnBo
