The last thread was beyond salvaging, so we'll open a new thread. The fan wars and trolling have to stop from here on out.

don't worry, we'll probably reach that number again, just remember there will be like 8 singles off this era, if we count the 3 possible singles that will have the re-release  so we're going to be LOUD for a while

btw is it true that OG is #1 on Hot 100 or not?

I hope to be true.
I will be happy to see
#1 OG
#2 Firework
or
#1 OG
#3 Firework

Two of the best songs for me this year.

Yes, Rihanna got information from Billboard and announced her 9th #1 on the Hot 100 on Twitter.

She has 7 #1s on Pop with OG, so by saying "9 #1s" she was surely referring to the Hot 100! :)

I'm so mad the other thread was closed. Too many trolls flock to this thread. :(

Congratz to Rihanna for her 9th #1 on the hot 100.

OMG this is crazy. If only her albums sales could reflect her Hot 100 success. She is the Queen of the Hot 100 for the 2000s.

Loud has taken over MCR in today's UK midweeks and is therefore back up to #5 as expected.

amazing news, 9th No.1 :o :o :o in just 5yrs, this is really incredible and it is so rare even since Soundscan launch. 1st single gaining No.1 after the second one as well.
Btw, it's her 3rd chart-topper that scored top position both on UK and US album chart

I think Usher also got 4 #1s in one year.

Is this the second time a first single gets the #1 after the second single? I think that happened first with The Beatles.

2 other females, Mariah and Paula Abdul also had 4 #1s in 1 year although not in the same calender year.
The Beatles had her 1st single topped the chart after her 2nd single topped the chart. But initially the first single flopped and it was re-released after the 2nd single was successful. Only Girl is not a re-relased single. 8-)

Rihanna's 'Only Girl' Rebounds to No. 1 on Hot 100

by Silvio Pietroluongo, N.Y. | November 24, 2010 7:30 EST

Two weeks after topping the Billboard Hot 100 with "What's My Name?" (featuring Drake), Rihanna will return to No. 1 on the chart released Thursday (Nov. 25) with "Only Girl (In the World)," the debut single from her new album, "Loud."

It's the first time in Hot 100 history that an album's debut single reaches No. 1 after the second single does. "What's My Name" dips 7-8 on the Hot 100, though it does take the Airplay Gainer for a fourth straight week. "Loud, meanwhile, debuts at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.

"Only Girl" is Rihanna's fourth single to ascend to No. 1 in 2010, making her the first female, and first artist overall since Usher in 2004, to hit the top that many times in a single calendar year. Rihanna also moves to the forefront for most No. 1s in the millennium (since 2000), as "Only Girl" is her ninth track to lead the list. She had been tied with Usher for the past two weeks, with eight chart-toppers since 2000.
:o Congrats Rihanna!
