Avril Lavigne | Goodbye Lullaby

'Goodbye Lullaby' is the upcoming fourth album from pop/rock superstar Avril Lavigne, due March 2011. She confirmed the title at this years AMAs around the 1 minute mark of this video.

With first single 'What The Hell' having its video shot next week, things really seem to be coming into place in preparation for the album launch.

That title is awful. "Goodbye lullaby"? Using words like lullaby or fairytale is not the best way to prove you´ve grown up.
I hope her material doesn´t go that lane.

The title is okay. I don't think the title is going to be a big deal. It's not like Avril has to prove her growth as an artist unlike let's say, teen pop female singers, who are always judged on their musical growth and maturity.

I don´t agree at all. Avril is not a teen pop female singer but she isn´t Sheryl Crow either. The fact this album is already surrounded by all that mess "my record label wants a superficial bland song for the first single but, dudes, my music is mature and deep blah blah" (we can read her "open letter" on her website") proves, at least for me, she is not so over that judgement. I´m just saying that title is bland as hell. Maybe her music this time around is awesome (something a la "Alice") but judging from we have (a lame title and a "feud" between her and her record label)that´s my opinion.

What my point is that it's not that people will criticize her music or her image based on the title alone. Maybe for fans who read her "open letter", it would be that important, but as long as she comes out with good pop/rock songs, she'll have a hit.
