Love that Tom. One of my friends drew that as well. It's a great piece.

I do miss Art, but I'm actually glad I didn't take it for my degree. I think it would've pushed me 'out of the real world' a bit too much.

Still, when I get home over Christmas, and especially over Summer 2011, I've decided I'm going to start building up a portfolio of work in a big book, to show to prospective employers and the grandchildren one day.

I was hardly anything mind bogglingly talented anyway, but I feel like the ability to draw is still in me somewhere, just suppressed for now

I've never really spent much time making art pieces, but lately I've felt great inspiration to do so.

This winter break, I'm going to buy a sketchbook and maybe a canvas or two and try to use my creative juices. My mom has several tubes of paint and several brushes I can use.

I've always liked art from the Cubist movement so I think I might make some artwork in that style. I also love architecture so I'm going to try my hand at some building facade sketches.

I'll let y'all know how it turns out :)

^that's great Tom. I never really finished all my building pieces that I did for GCSE, finding them too fiddly or either only having a few drawings in my final sketchbook at GCSE level, hence the C.

'Only' a B. I'd come to realise that I was going to get a C considering everyone else had about 10 drawings in their final sketchbook and I had about 3. My drawings were actually quite good, just, well, hard to come by... :P

Yeah definitely. I'm taking English for my degree, but in this sketch book on the page, i'm building up a portfolio of work.

Wolverhampton University offered me a partial scholarship to do Art at their uni, but also told me that its something I've proven I will develop myself, whereas with English, I got an A in my A-Level and its something I can develop with education, and then the two can be combined in Writing and illustration :)

I've done a couple of pieces so far to get me going, and i'm going to concentrate it when I have the long summer holidays off.
