I thought it was great. If you don't think enough happened, you have to realize that the last 2 episodes were transitional. They didn't know if they would be picked up for Season 2 so they wanted episode 6 to give SOME sense of closure in case they were canceled, but they also had to leave room for the show to continue.

The CDC arc was created for the last 2 episodes because 2 episodes would not have been enough to show the next story arc in the comics after Rick finds his family. I have no doubt season 2 will be amazing and properly paced.

A lot of people have been telling me that they hated the finale -- I don't really understand.

It answered several questions I had... about the disease, about what happened at the hospital Rick was at, how Shane felt about leaving Rick at the hospital, etc... The ending was tense and climatic.

Sure, the episode was quite predictable, but overall I feel like I can hold myself over until season 2 starts.. which will be a LONG time from now lol.

I enjoyed the finale. I think whatever lackluster feeling it might've had was because it was such a short run to start with. I think season 2 will be even better. I thought it was better than True Blood's finale for sure.

Really enjoyed the first season, especially since the show seems to be a character study with zombies in it.

The final episode does seem to have been written to allow an "ending" if the show had been canceled, but open to create a second story arc if the show did well (which, thankfully, it has).

That episode IMO was all about dashing hopes for a "miracle" cure that will solve the apocalypse. When the doc called the zombie outbreak "humanity's extinction event", his words rang true to me. I also think his warning to Rick that he'll live one day to regret that he didn't die sooner will come true (I haven't read the comic book, so I don't know where the story is headed).

I can't wait for season two!

I thought it was a decent finale - though found it odd why one of them decided after all that fight to stay alive to just give up and die in the CDC, guess the doctor was quite convincing with his bleak description of the future

I could understand Andrea's reaction though after what had happened to her sister (BTW I thought she looked familiar, she had a recurring role in X-Files)

Look forward to more of the Rick/Lori/Shane love triangle and more of what has made this show such a triumph

Walking Dead is still one of the best creation of AMC. We all are waiting for the moment when show will gets renewed for its next episodes in 2011 October.

Ok been watching this today, and I say I'm so disappointed on the first episode. It's like logic has thrown out the window. I'm still watching this crap to see if this leads me to something good. But the breaker on this tv show was the horse. Dammit, it's like the horse was a sacrifice for the sake of gore.

Ok watching this show, I think I like it now. I just don't want the first episode imo but it was great after that. Now moving to episode 4. :)

There's a thread already.

Blame it on the the search part of UKMIX, it's F... useless...
Typed "Walking Dead" selected TV & Film and it came up with nothing! Except threads not connected to it at all! Such as the Top of The Pops thread

Pitty the couldn't have just have merged the thread too!

The search thread is indeed totally useless (Well I gave up using it) - I use Google instead, just type in UKMix then whatever you are looking for, tends to work almost all of the time

That's very strange, as the search, restricted to TV & Film, has no trouble finding "Walking Dead".

I never have a problem with the search function either! I always type AND between words as per the instructions and sometimes change it to "search for all terms".

Thought I post my main comment on the show here anyway, then the Mod can delete the other!

It's very similar to Shaun of the Dead, but not funny, and the Channel Four thing about Big Brother and zombies.

I would say it keeps you interested if you can stomach the gore :-? However with all of these living dead movies, it has one problem, in that it just isn't feasable to have some kind of virus, kill the victim and then come back to life with the know how to hunt like these things do. For one thing it requires the brain to be alive and to do that with a blood supply to keep it "alive". But these things in this TV show have in some cases lost half the body, so no blood would be present. However they can be stopped by shooting them in the head
Which makes no sense to me at all :-?
It also makes it very easy to stop the spread, in the gun filled world of the USA. But from what you see in this series it hasn't.
Still I would rate it 8 out of 10 for the tense nature of the thing.

Watched the finale Sunday. Having looked at this thread it seams a bit up in the air as to if there are going to be more :-?
Any news on this? Somebody quoted US ratings a max of 6 million. Is that good for a show in the US? Have shows been pulled with these ratings before?

Nice to know that the place where germs are stored would blow up if the power stopped, assuming it's true!

I still don't get how the army got overun, it's daft when a dozen in our group can fight off hundreds of the things  There was also no evidence that the tanks had fired

Also had to laugh at the end when they were in the cars driving away! They all went on one side of the road, the side they drive on in the US  What were they expecting to hit sightseeing traffic coming in the other direction to see what had caused the explosion :o

it's back! 8-) is it just me or the zombies are smarter now?!
I'm loving all the drama and it's hilarious when they took away Andrea's gun because she's not trained but then give the wife (can't remember her name) one infront of her  and she rolls her eyes!

the guy who played Judas is cute but he probably stinks real bad
