Hello there. I just wanted to make a thread for songwriters so they can post original songs and we can see what we think of them, if you want to. I did this because I admire songwriters (many of my favorites are songwriters e.g. Taylor Swift, Ke$ha, Jason Derulo)and I like their honesty and ability to create good music with their words. The songs can be about anything you want and you can also write about why or what inspired you to write the song. I'll start.

I wrote this song on April 2nd, 2010
It was a sunny April afternoon, and I was all alone,I just wanted to release my pain and dace in the rain (even though it was sunny)

It's good, but you need to pick a word and repeat the hell out of it for it to be music.

i.e., "Alejandro", "Obsessed", or "Baby".

Also, try putting days of the week in there.
Maybe
"I Wanna Be Dancing in the Rain
On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday,
Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday"

It'll be a guaranteed hit. Promise.

Pineapple Song Interesting title, can you post it? You don't have to, I'm just really curious. It sounds good based on the title. (Let me guess, it repeats one word over and over LOL)
I picture my song more of a country song than anything else, so if someone ever sung this song, it wouldn't become a hit, unless an electro version was made for it and it used repetition. LOL

Brought Up That Way- Taylor Swift and Hyler. It's a tale of a girl named Emily, and how her daddy is always there. Taylor writes about being bullied in school, Emily almost losing her virginity, and being in a car crash with a drunk driver. It's so inspirational. Definitely one of Swift's best. It's only a demo.

Firework- Katy Perry, Mikkel S. Eriksen, Tor Erik Hermansen, Sandy Wilhelm, Ester Dean
Whoever hasn't heard this song must be deaf . It's another inspirational song and let's us shine like fireworks as we shot across the sky-y-y!
This song let me see Katy Perry as an artist not just a hit single maker.

This is probably the best I've written. Snich means best friend in our language. (It's pronounced snish) I love my best friend but she thinks she's ugly and not skinny enough. That's why I wrote this for her.
