MTV Announces Dates For Movie Awards, VMAs And Woodies
Mark your calendars for June 5, August 28 and March 16.

Image

This year Kanye West toasted all the douche bags for the very first time. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson locked lips, and so did Scarlett and Sandra. You just never know what's going to happen at an MTV awards show. But now, at least, you know when they're going to happen, as we've just announced our 2011 schedule.

The 20th annual MTV Movie Awards will air live on Sunday, June 5, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT) from Los Angeles.

The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live on Sunday, August 28 at 9 p.m. (ET/PT).

And, in its first move outside of New York City, the sixth annual mtvU Woodie Awards will air live for the first time ever on Wednesday, March 16, at 12 a.m. (ET/PT) on MTV, MTV2 and mtvU from the Austin Music Hall in Austin, Texas, during the South by Southwest Music Festival.

"We are thrilled to plant the MTV flag early for next year by announcing our 2011 dates for the biggest and most influential nights in music, the VMAs and Woodies, as well as Hollywood's most outlandish evening of entertainment, the Movie Awards," said Stephen Friedman, general manager of MTV. "We can't imagine a better place for the 2011 mtvU Woodie Awards than Austin, a city that is synonymous with great live music and recognized as one of the country's most dynamic college towns."

So where will the Movie Awards and VMAs be held? Which celebs will be walking the carpet, handing out awards and competing for Golden Popcorn and Moonmen? You'll have to stay tuned, because we'll have plenty of news in the months to come. For now, mark your pop-culture calendars — who knows what will go down in 2011?
Predictions? I'm rooting for 'E.T'. 8-)

And 'Teenage Dream' too
It might not have an extra editing & special effects like 'E.T.' or 'California Gurls' but it's undoubtedly really enjoyable and the summer theme really works for me.

She's ready to get her first VMA!

I don't know but Katy has to win something already.
And I hope Rihanna gets some love too (S&M).
+ Gaga, Britney, even Ke$ha might appear in the nominations.
And Bruno for Best New Artist :D !

I just hope they will be less predictable. Boycott Gaga or something, she won EIGHT freaking awards last year. Surely that's all the awards she'll ever need? They need to award Katy Perry, Kesha, Nicki Minaj, and more indie acts, if they will. The VMAs have just lost its spark, prestige and coolness in many, many years. I'm kind of missing them in the 90s when acts like Annie Lennox, Tori Amos, Deep Forest, R.E.M, Aerosmith would get nominations and actually win.

I really do hope they won't do anything stupid like letting all the main awards for public votes. That just ain't right. Hopefully the Viewer's Choice Award will be back too... I'm expecting something unpredictably amazing from them this year. If they nominate what I nominate, pull off a fantastic line-up of performers (I really, really hope Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj & Kesha will perform the "...'Til The World Ends" remix) then they'll restore some major credibility and prestige.

MTV MOvie Awards Performers

Beyoncé
Lady Gaga
Rihanna
Jennifer Lopez

etc...

I have not watched the MTV awards for the past 5 years; I find them boring. I only watch the performances on youtube the next day.

Which video do you think will be the great runner on the show this year?
Last year , it was Bad Romance, which is really great and epic.
2009's big winner was Beyonce's Single Ladies, I guess... Something totally different and not extravagant, but great by its easiness and classic.
