Not noticed that mark on her neck before, wonder what it is?

She's absolutely stunning though, hope she has a hit with "Finish Line".

I heard that it was a burn! I first noticed it in the "Finish Line" video

I loved her voice on "Runaway" but none of her solo singles have really impressed me.

I met her after she did a PA at a club in Leicester and she was absolutely hammered. She was lovely bless her, I don't think anyone really knew who she was
one day i will shine with you. i'll shine on a faithful few.

Someone asked her about her scar
People often ask me about my scar, I don't intend on getting it removed unless it grows it's own limbs or starts to cause me pain, it's never stopped me wearing anything or made me feel self conscious, if I get a say I tell photographers no...t to photoshop it out, don't see the point, it's part of me. Hopefully I can make someone else with a scar or distinguishing feature feel that little bit more confident about it, that'd be nice.

I'd always wondered about her scar since I saw her promoting 'On My Own' on T4. I'm glad she's not ashamed of it.

Her album sampler is immense, she really is delivering amazing music and living up to my high expectations. I uploaded 'Told You So' to my blog, listen to it here. It's a great song, and a definite single contender IMO.

You can also listen to Yasmin's cover of 'No Woman No Cry' here. It's great. There is also a download link on that page, but go ahead and download it as Yasmin posted it on her twitter.

Yasmin // Told You So

Yasmin’s album sampler leaked today and boy is it good. ‘Told You So’ is possibly the best previously unheard track (although there was some live footage on the web of her performing it), showing us exactly why Yasmin is one of the best new artists of this year.

The song opens with melancholic synths and electronic beeps, with poignant lyrics such as “karma’s a queen and she’s to take this seat on the throne”, before the 90’s trip-hop style drums kick in, leading us perfectly to the chorus of this understatedly feisty song, filled with Yasmin’s bitterness towards a certain boy.

The strings which kick in during the second verse complete this song, making it a perfect example of Yasmin’s signature Trip-Pop Soul sound. Give this a listen, it really is one of the best tracks of the year - and while your doing that download Yasmin’s single ‘Finish Line’ from UK Itunes - it really is a tune. http://bit.ly/FINISH-LINE
That's my review of 'Told You So'...I really wish you could hear it Carly, but hopefully that description will do. It's an ice cool slightly fast paced mid-tempo - I love it.

"Givin' Up" is a drum and bass tinged midtempo, with hints of dubstep - it's really nice and understated with a early 2000s pop edge - it really reminds me of one of the slower tracks from Katy B's album, which is a great thing as you know. The strings at the start are gorgeous.

'999' also starts with strings, but is definitely more beat driven in this verses, with the strings being used a lot more during the song. It still manages to sound moody, even though lyrically it's a lot happier than the other two songs - the chorus is quite bouncy though, it's a nice contrast. It's a mid-tempo again I'd say.

Her vocals are great on all 3 songs, I love her tone.

I've heard 2 songs from her (On My Own and Finish Line). Both went top 20 on my list, with Finish Line charting at #1.

Surely this will make me put her CD into shopping basket when it will be released...

"Told You So" is OK, probably a grower. I really can't wait for her album though!

Okay, the album sampler is AMAZING! :o

Every track is fantastic. Very midtempo heavy but she works it and she has such a beautiful tone in her voice!

"999" is single material. Very radio friendly.

On uStream she said she has a few options for 3rd single, but she hasn't decided yet!

She said that she'll be featured on a few tracks first! One is with Devlin, Ed Sheeran and Griminal (I think she said these I've forgotten  ), one with Skream and another one with Shy FX :)

but they're not all like massive single releases, they might just be small releases

Those collaborations sound like they're going to be great! '999' and 'Told You So' would both make great singles, although I'd like to be surprised with something that wasn't featured on the sampler as a third single.

Here is a video showing Yasmin perform Finish Line, Told You So and On My Own on the Album Chart Show around the time when 'Finish Line' was released. There's a lot of talking over the performances, but they're very good nonetheless.

In this video Yasmin mentions that she's still finishing off her album which now won't be released to January 2011 and is currently untitled. I hope we get a new single released at the end of August/September and the album released, presumably alongside the 5th single. The more collaborations between now and the album release, the better as well.

^ Love that picture, she is way too stunning.

Here's a list of people she's worked with:

Labrinth
Future Cut
Shy FX
Freemasons
Diplo

Starsmith
The Smeezingtons
Jamie xx

The ones in bold are the names she mentions the most, so I think they'll definitely make the album. I'm not sure about the last 3, but she's mentioned them in interviews before. I think she might have also worked with songwriter Andrea Martin when in the US and I'm hoping that she worked with Chase & Status.

Her vocals have improved so much from when she first started. Her first performance was pretty shaky, but she was really good by the time I saw her in the summer. Her vocals seem to have gotten even better since then.

'5 Minutes' is amazing, I can't stop playing it. I love how honest her music is, although I doubt she needs all of 5 minutes to say that. Can't wait to hear the studio version.
