I understand that celebrities, media, and business use Twitter for marketing purposes, but why regular Joe Doe uses it? I sense some kind of complex syndrome and pathetic scream for attention.

Clearly. Must be why you posted that last line twice.

Or you could think of it as people connecting with other people who share similar interests... I've had people follow me and vice versa after bonding about everything from hip-hop to P90X. And theres value in sharing those opinions.

I don't get these people who use it solely for the purpose of moaning and complaining about X, Y and Z but each to their own.
