This song is fying up on every I-tune chart as it seems.

Can it go to #1 (digital chart) in the USA? I think so, I'm more septical about the UK though.

When I click on US itunes, it does not show Coldplay at all - not even in the top 200.

That's so strange.

What?? I'm not sceptical about the UK at all!

Their new song is great, will have to grow on me a bit more though.

But they didn't confim Violet Hill as the first single at first either, it was just a song that you could download from their website for free.

I didn't listen to Every Teardrop so far but Violet Hill, a moderate song, made "Viva La Vida" (albu,) have first week sales of 1.5 mio. worldwide.
I wonder what Viva La Vida could have done if they released Viva La Vida (song), one of the biggest songs of their career, as the first single...
Perhaps they could have beaten Gaga's first week sales

Yeah, you could download it for free from their website for two days I think. I remember reading that they didn't think that the track was that good and could be given away as a gift to fans. EMI / Parlophone made it the first single then.

And Timmy94, I think they could have the same worldwide first week sales - and keep in mind that wasn't just because of Violet Hill. Viva La Vida starting to become quite popular during the album's release and it was already featured in the iTunes commercials etc.
