I am considering Creamfields! Always said I'd never go to a festival but I've been approached about going and am really tempted by the line-up... kinda feel I have to experience it for myself once in life. Might chicken out and book a hotel though

NOO! It's not about the music even necssarily, great acts are bonus! I've had amazing festivals with line ups I'm not overly fussed with - it's about the atmosphere! CAMP!

Full Glastonbury line up is out! Sooooo happy with the Pendulum/Beyonce climax on the Sunday night - thought they might clash!

Looks like my days might go:

Chipmunk - Metronomy - Two Door Cinema Club OR Fenech Soler - Katy B - Biffy Clyro - Mumford & Sons - Cee Lo Green

Jessie J - Tinie Tempah OR Jimmy Eat World - Paulo Nutini OR Friendly Fires - Janelle Monae - Coldplay

Jamie Woon - Noisettes OR OK Go - Bombay Bicycle Club OR Everything Everything - The Vaccines - Plan B - Pendulum - Beyonce

With lots of free time Saturday morning to check out some brand new names. :D

Rock am Ring was fantastic!
It was my first festival so obviously everything was very new to me, but it was fantastic. The camping part was totally new for me too, and that was awesome with all my friends!
The music: also incredible. You just really can't beat live music!

Coldplay were the absolute highlight. I've never bought anything from Coldplay but I've always kind of followed their music and I shocked myself at how many songs I knew and loved. They were just incredible, their set left me feeling amazing!

Kings of Leon, wow, biggest dissapointment of the festival. I was so excited for them but was so let down. After 45 mins, I was nearly falling asleep. I was so dissapointed with everything: the lack of energy, the lack of interaction with the audience (you don't need to speak German to the crowd :x !!)

Mando Diao - never heard of them until I saw the line up, and they were fantastic. They have a huge following in Germany, and their show was truly spectacular!

The Pretty Reckless are a band that I knew everything from, and they were a highlight for me! I was right at the front and Taylor Momsen was a great frontwoman, and I thought she would be very cold to the crowd, but she was in fact clearly very grateful to be there and was fantastic with the crowd. And her live vocals are awesome + raw + passionate!

Also enjoyed Hurts, Hollywood Undead, Bring Me The Horizon, The King Blues, VersaEmerge (the lead singer was lovely and jumped down to the audience before they started their set and chatted with us, I was in the front the row!).

I think they have pulled it back a bit with the Undercover Stage Tom... I still think it's well worth going, even if the line up isn't the best this year! I've still managed to carve out a decent couple days of viewing with the guesstimated times!

Simon, so glad you enjoyed it, you've got me hyped for Coldplay now too!

In 24 hours I'll be at GLASTOOOOOOOO! SOO excited!!

Can you chose to watch certain stages online? I've only found the other stage on the BBC Glastonbury website and The Vaccines are playing. Luckily they're great.

There's loads of highlights on the BBC website now, of which I am SO glad as I can't wait to relive it all, I had the absolute time of my LIFE! Even the weather wasn't going to get me down, I'd be back there tomorrow if I could be. I saw 19 acts, and I'd rank them in this order..

19. Metronomy - Enjoyed but knew the least material and made least impact.

18. Chipmunk - Again, enjoyable but wasn't really in the thick of it and nothing blew me away.

17. Plan B - A decent setlist packed with the hits but my fears that his live voice isn't that amazing were confirmed. Good, not great.

16. Fleet Fozes
I wasn't so familar with the material and saw the set at a time where I was absolutely shattered and right from the back but the songs I knew were great and their vocals and harmonies were very impressive.

15. Ke$ha
Vocals weren't the greatest, set was pretty short but it was entertaining and a great opener to get the weekend going!

14. Jamie Woon
A really nice opener to the day, a great choice of cover (Would I Lie To You) and some great vocals.

13. Jessie J
I found this a bit disappointing and I can't really put my finger on why (other than too much talking). Great vocals as ever but perhaps it was her having to sit through it that just made the whole thing a bit underwhelming.

12. Friendly Fires
Some really cracking music despite me not knowing much of it - enjoyed a good boogie!

11. Cee Lo Green
A great set, great energy and great vocals but for a headliner just far too short at only 40 minutes!

10. Tinie Tempah
A hit induced setlist, great fun!

09. Janelle Monae
Sadly didn't get to see the whole thing due to dashing off for Coldplay but she was really rocking it as I left! :(

08. Pendulum
Nowhere near as good as the last time I saw them - it was too light, I was too far away and the people I was with didn't get it at all but I still very much enjoyed my own little personal rave!

07. Coldplay
A fantastic headline set! Was disappointed at the exclusion of Talk, Trouble and Speed of Sound but the other hits were superb and singalong. Felt magical.

06. The Wombats
Thoroughly enjoyed this set, I'd heard they weren't great live but I'd have to disagree, love the new album so great to hear some tracks from that, the crowd got going, loved it!

05. Biffy Clyro
Great great singalong, rocking out set!

04. Two Door Cinema Club
The guys live voice is so strong and even though it was raining it was a set made for a festival, too good!

03. Mumford & Sons
Been waiting to see these guys a long time. They did not disappoint. Glasto moments aplenty. Just superb.

02. Noisettes
The big surprise for me. Seen them before and very much enjoyed but this was just SUPERB. Shingai was so involved with the crowd, knew how to speak to them and rocked her perfomance!

01. Beyonce
Will detail in the Beyonce topic but really, it was the best thing ever. I couldn't believe what I was seeing, it was SO special.

The music this year was so strong that any of my top 7 would potentially have outranked my top set from last year.

Glasto 'moments' were: Beyonce - Crazy In Love and Halo, Mumford & Songs - Dust Bowl Dance and The Cave, Biffy Clyro - Mountains, The Wombats - Let's Dance To Joy Division, Coldplay - Fix You, Cee Lo - F**k You, Jessie J - Price Tag.

I want to be back there now :(

I don't get this, he was brilliant when I saw him. I wonder if it depends on the venue.

Well wanna see them one day!

Saw them on TV a few years back (T4 I think) and she did seem brilliant!

I think I got into trouble before for asking oxy if he was the type of person that expects the vocal at live shows to be identical to the record...

^ :S I don't recall that at all. I don't expect the live show to sound exactly as record, there'd be little point in going if it did. However I reserve the right to be disappointed if the live vocal is significantly weaker...

Mike, it might have been that we held back a bit and so weren't really in the mix - I tend to find that at festivals as the crowds are so big, if you're towards the back or at least not in a densely populated space, it does come across flatter. I still enjoyed it but we just weren't best placed probably.

As for Beyonce, I usually watch the headliners from the back of the 100,000 strong crowd (it's on a hill, the view is awesome as opposed to rubbish) but while I wasn't front few rows or anything, I'd say I was in the front 15% - awesome!

I've read it! Great review :D
I saw a part of Plan B's performance on the television and thought he didn't sound good at all. I do like him though. And not surprised Beyoncé was your highlight.

There's this new festival called 'Summer Well' here in Romania and it's very cheap.

Line-Up:
13 August -
Plan B
Noisettes
Mystery Jets
Graffiti6
Chew Lips

14 August -
Interpol
The Raveonettes
Chapel Club
The Wombats
Alex Clare

All this for only 100 RON which translates to roughly 25 pounds or 40 dollars.

Don't know if this counts but I'm off to see Fun Lovin Criminals, Ash and Ocean Colour Scene amongst others at Sundae in the Park in Manchester next weekend. (No, it's not 1997....)

I think that's about as close to a festival as I am gonna get. :P
