I find that her vocal style is a lot like Siobhan Donaghy's! :o In Broken Record she does that stunning vocal thing that Siobhan Donaghy does a lot on her debut album :o Indescribable, but it sounds so gorgeous. It's in the way she sings "holding" and it's also the way she drags out "fate".

She was one of my favourites at Radio 1 Big Weekend! Her vocals were ON POINT. She put on a great show..

I went from hating this album to being sort of a fan now! I think it's one of those records where you need to be in a specific mindset to really make sense of. Why You Always Here is my current favourite, the repetition of minor notes running through is sinister and amazing!

Well you have Dubstep, Drum & Bass, Chill-out / ambient music, and several other types of Electronica elements throughout the entire album.

It is not, particularly, dance music.
I'd say it's an electronic album, I wouldn't classify it as Dance.

No need to patronize. Image

I think she's been slightly overlooked by the British media this year, over Jessie J as the ''big'' new British Female of 2011.

Very true, there is just no competition between the two this is on a much higher level. As far as debut albums go this will be a hard one to beat in 2011 I think.

Je la kiffe!! 8-)

"Broken Record", "Beautiful Stranger", "Louder" and "Witches Brew" are my favourites.

Surprisingly the both singles "Lights On" and "Katy On A Mission" along with the album track "Hard To Get" are the tracks I barely listen to.

NEW YORK, July 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Columbia Records is proud to present the critically acclaimed UK pop singer Katy B's US debut album On A Mission to be released on September 13, 2011.

Katy B made her U.S. live debut in New York City on June 6, 2011 as part of the Steve Madden Summer Music Series and left event goers wanting more. CosmoGirl raved of Katy's recent debut: "Just like Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, Katy B's songs are so good you won't be able to get them out of your head. It may not be long before she joins these artists on the top of the charts!" The Village Voice agreed saying "Katy, whose voice brings to mind freestyle divas as much as it does Aaliyah, soars over the fantastic pop amalgam created by her and her producers, which is stuffed with nods to dubstep, UK garage, funky, and other bits scavenged from the fringes of pop."

Look out for updates on Katy's US Fall Tour coming soon.
