A few classical artists have tried to combine their genre with a more conventional "pop" sound, most of them fail to impress me when doing that. However, Klaus vocal style is still quite different from other classical vocalists and I think that what he manages to do with those records is something quite unique, the way he expresses himself. Not the typical "classical" singer.crazycrazy wrote:Yes Dan we are different in that sense, I think it's largely because I find it more interesting hearing his classical voice against the more conventional sounds rather than classical tracks because that's where you'd expect his voice to belong!
Yes I agree he definitely isn't just your typical classical vocalist, his voice is quite breath taking! I'm glad you understood my point!Vindrag wrote:Vindrag wrote:We're different there, as I prefer the classical records. Total Eclipse must be his only BAD song? But I see your point as well, I guess I've been listening too much to opera and similar music since I was very young - that's the only genre my whole family can share.
Dunno what that Conker game is, but you're right, there is a bit of Sarabande echoing in the Cold Song!Vindrag wrote:
I did say that I wanted to purchase The Cold Song, must mean that I really liked the song!It made me re-discover my extremely intimate relation to Sarabande and also put me in the mood to play the Conker game again!
You do hear the similarity?
I've been watching this performance again today! So amazing!crazycrazy wrote:Klaus Nomi - Nomi Song (Live) (1982)
I love this, he was so freaky! But amazing, it felt so awkward because the audience just didn't know how to react!![]()

He was lightyears ahead of his time, f*ck even if he was alive now, he'd still be lightyears ahead of his time!I just love this guy!
Well it's a shame you don't like him.RightToDream wrote:There's something about him that I don't like, but there's no denying he was great. It's shame he was one of the early victims of AIDS; who knows what he could have gone on to do?

I love Nomi, discovered him in an MP3 Community in livejournal and fell in love. I should really buy his albums at some point.
