Furthermore, i'd like to know the Herbie Hancock chart positions. :)
I done a research on promusicae.es and looks that every edition and support is counted separately. So, Michael Jackson would have at least 36 #1 singles in Spain :o
He had 10#1s in the Singles & Maxisingles chart before the Visionary era; 15 #1s during the Visionary era (10 of them had never been #1 before), therefore he has 20 "different" songs that have reached #1. Moreover "Thriller" reached #1 in the digital chart

Ive read Madonna has 15 #1s in Spain and Shakira 12...but Im confused since some include airplay only..can you verify this please David? Airplay, Singles and Downloads please?
That info is very old; Madonna has 21 #1s in the Singles & Maxisingles charts (1985-2008), 3 #1s in Airplay (2003-2006) and 1 #1 in Digital songs.
Shakira has 2 #1s in the Singles & maxisingles charts, 10 #1s in Airplay and 5 #1s in digital.

But the original editions and the Visionary editions are really counted separately in the singles & maxisingles chart like happens in UK and Ireland? I can understand that is counted separately in the songs chart because is a different chart, but frankly, I find it absurd to count separately the same single in the same chart only because is a re-issue.

P.S. However, can you tell me something about Herbie Hancock? In the previous page i asked you about his chart positions.

Thank you for all, especially for your patience :)

Wow, 'Round Midnight was a nice success in Spain. Surprise also for Future Shock and Rockit, that failed to chart respectively in the Albums chart and Singles & Maxisingles chart.

Thank you again :)

Sorry to re-live this topic but I bought the book and has many mistakes as Madonna's I'm Breathless only being #3 when actually was #2 for 2 weeks coinciding with her Blond Ambition Tour in the mid of 1990 summer, and María del Monte "Besos de Luna" was #1 in the Album chart and the book says it made to #3 only.
I think there's more mistakes and some gaps, but it's a good source where to check Spanish Albums and Singles Chart.

"I'm breathless" is right in the book; #2 (30/07), page 545; it was in the CD chart where it peaked at #3.
And "Besos de luna" is right too in the book: #1 for 2 weeks (page 527).
However there are many small mistakes.

So then sorry for my mistake  , I checked and you are absolutely right.
David, do you have all Madonna's albums estimated sales in Spain.
I believe Madonna's biggest selling album in Spain is Like a Prayer, followed by the Immaculate Collection, True Blue and Ray of Light, but I don't kwow the order, all of them certified with 3X Platinum, Like a Prayer is 4X Platinum.
Thanks in advance for all your posts every week and your dedication to the Spanish charts.

Yes, "like a prayer" sold 415.000, "Immaculate" over 370.000, "Ray of light" 350.000, "True blue" 320.000, etc.
These numbers were published in "Los 40" magazine in december 2005.

A Spanish book and nobody asked about Los Bravos and Los Pop-Tops.
Is it possible to have their Spanish journey though the hit-parade ?
Thank you.

Has anyone got the chart positions for the band Nirvana in this Spanish book ?

They had hit albums between 1991 and 2002:

Nevermind (1991)
Incesticide (1992)
Bleach (1992)
In Utero (1993)
MTV Unplugged in New York (1994)
From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah (1996)
Nirvana (2002)

They had hit singles between 1991 and 1994 (but some might not have charted):

Smells Like Teen Spirit (1991)
Come As You Are (1992)
Lithium (1992)
In Bloom (1992)
Heart-Shaped Box (1993)
All Apologies/Rape Me (double A-side) (1993)
About A Girl (1994)

Any info much appreciated. Thanks.

(and could I have the page numbers from the book for reference please)

"About a girl" didn't chart in the sales chart, but it did chart in "Los 40 principales" radio chart; these were Nirvana's peaks in that chart:

Entry date / Peak / Title

29 02 1992 1 Smells like teen spirit
09 05 1992 10 Come as you are
08 08 1992 13 Lithium
06 02 1993 37 In bloom
02 10 1993 11 Heart-shaped box
08 01 1994 35 Rape me
03 12 1994 1 About a girl (Unplugged)
11 03 1995 1 The man who sold the world (Unplugged)
01 07 1995 28 All apologies (Unplugged)
26 10 1996 12 Aneurysm (Live)
28 12 1996 37 Smells like teen spirit (Live)
07 12 2002 33 You know you're right

No, these charts have never been published in a book; they are from old newspapers, magazines and internet.

It is not in the book But it does appear in the
weekly superventas charts, that is why I have included it here. Unfortunately there are some singles and álbums missing in the book because their sources are the monthly charts from the magazine el gran musical

Hola David!

This week the new Placido Domingo's album debuted on the albums chart and I was wondering if you could please tell me his chart history in Spain.

Thanks!
