I love the album title.. says alot about the musical direction of the project.
I don't think people are expecting itto be better than My Life... I think MJB named it that because of how Rolling Stone described the album....

"a retro album with lots of live instrumentation and soul samples"
Has Rolling Stone heard the whole album? I hope that's true about lots of live instrumentation.

Mary let them hear a couple songs
they said they know 2 songs will make the album "Beautiful Scars" written by Diane Warren
and "Feel Inside" produced by Jerry Wonda

Hyped now! I just watched the video and really hope she keeps that style of imagery for the rest of the project - the whole live instrumentation thing sounds great as well.

It's pretty amazing how she's managed to be a consistent album seller for what? Almost 20 years now? Insane :o

Not crazy about Someone to Love Me but if that's the general direction of the album then I'm happy, the concept sounds good.

I'm a bit worried about the producer list though, especially people like Danja and Stargate, they don't seem to fit the concept. It'd be great if she worked with people like Jam & Lewis and Chucky Thompson.

I'm hoping that they'll be out of their comfort zone and end up making some magic! I mean, RedOne ended up working with Alexandra Burke and very surprisingly we ended up with The Silence. If that's not the case then oh dear

I'm so excited about this album! I loved "Someone To Love Me" anyway but I love Mary's version too... got that old-school hip-hop soul feel. Mary's never let me down and I'm sure she won't this time either!

I love Each Tear but I agree with you, if it wasn't for Mary's voice it could have just been an "R&B 2009" compilation. The songs are still amazing on it though, and I think it's better than most of Growing Pains.

Judging from the work Chucky gave Faith on her new album... Mary will do just fine
He is nobody's R&B savior
and Mary did some songs with Jimmy & Terry on this album as well.

wow, live instrumentations and soul samples!
now i cannot wait as well, despite not being so utterly delighted it will be more hip-hop oriented.
Hopefully there will be appeared also super strong urban slow jamzs! 8-)
and luckily it will top US album chart and will revive string of No.1s that "Strongew withEach tear" teared.
Maybe october/november release would be better as it'll have to then compete with agressive Xmas targeted albums

Fans can mark September 20 as the day that Mary J. Blige returns with her 11th album, My Life II, The Story Continues.

By the time of the album's release — a sequel to Blige's triple-platinum My Life album — it will be almost two years since the Queen of Hip-Hop/R&B delivered her last project, Stronger With Each Tear.

"From me to you, My Life II ... our journey together continues in this life," Blige said in a statement. "It's a gift to be able to relate and identify with my fans at all times. This album is a reflection of the times and lives of people all around me."

Blige's sophisticated and sample-driven My Life was released in 1994, and was executive-produced by Sean "Diddy" Combs, who was then going by Puff Daddy. And it's probably no coincidence that Diddy is featured on the sequel's lead single, "Someone to Love Me (Naked)," which also features a verse from Lil Wayne.

The single's groove is courtesy of Wyclef Jean's cousin, the accomplished producer Jerry "Wonder" Duplessis. Other notable producers set to contribute to Blige's forthcoming album include Kanye West, Stargate (Wiz Khalifa's "Black and Yellow") and Swizz Beatz.

The original version of "Someone to Love Me" appeared on Diddy-Dirty Money's Last Train to Paris. The version with Blige on it dropped at the top of the year and, at the time, it was thought to be just a remix. But a mastered version is available now on iTunes and although Blige tweeted that the Collin Tilley-directed video would debut April 8, the clip began making the Internet rounds on Monday.

Blige has also been cast in the big-screen adaptation of the Broadway musical "Rock of Ages," which is set to star Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin and Diego Boneta.

Yeah, it seems like she was in a terrible state throughout the entire 90s! :o

I was tearing up when that interviewer was questioning how legit her engagement was, and proving to her on the spot that she'd been lied to. What a bitch!

definitely! her music was positively influenced by her problems in 90s, which probably make her albums immaculate  8-) because they were/are so PERSONAL!
