Yes I think it does and it’s not something I’ve done before. If this was a year ago I don’t mind saying now that I would have been, like, “no way am I doing this”. I was not even up for working with anyone. This is why these two songs fit really well together actually, because ‘Fear & Loathing’ is about genuinely not feeling bitter or crazy or jealous any more (nervous laugh) and actually feeling a lot better off for it. And so I’ve been working with a lot of other people. I’ve been working with Dr Luke, Stargate, and I’ve learned SO much. And I’ve done an album - well, it’s nearly done - that’s so exciting and feels like a real album. I just think, if I’d sat in my bedroom and carried on as I was because I thought that equalled credibility, I don’t think I would have produced a good album. With Stargate the production is the antithesis of everything I’ve done so far, but I think you have to try [line breaks up]. And I really like the song now. I’ve really grown into it!

So you didn’t like it to start with?

No, I did... But we originally composed it to this sort of guitar dance track. Then on the last night of working with them someone from Amsterdam sent in an instrumental to a different girl that didn’t work. And then Tor [from Stargate] was like, ‘oh my God, what if we turn put it underneath that track’, and I was like, ‘hm...’, and then we did it and it sounded amazing. And I really wanted to go with it. This is like the only time I would have released that song, I think. End of the summer... Before I have an album out. It’s not the sort of song that would be the lead single for an album.

That last sentence is worrying but we'll see. Suggests this is kind of throwaway pop and not representative of the album.

It's a dance track!

Never in a million years expected Marina to do something like this, it seems weird! But I actually like the song and I can't blame her for following the easiest route to a hit. Not keen on the blonde hair though.

I like it but the chorus is a bit lacklustre, I think it's the way the vocals are done on it.

I don't think it's a bad song. I quite like it, all modern dance tracks doesn't suck just because its dance! Her strong vocals might not suit this type of production, but they are also the reason why I like this and because of the video! Reminds me a bit of About A Girl by Sugababes. In other words, might manage to become a UK hit, but not in the US.

It's obvious that she both needs and wants a hit, and this might be the easiest way to get one.

Wow, I'm not sure WHAT to think of this. I mean, I like the song but is completely different to what Marina's done before... much more mainstream. It doesn't seem like her but the song sort of suits her voice. Stargate produced it too?! Totally unexpected!

Will be interesting to hear the album. I'm slightly unsure of my verdict of this at the moment as you can tell by my rambling! :lol:

Wow, this is different! I have to say I quite like it! Verses are really good, and it sounds very like Calvin Harris! I hope this is a big hit for it, and it has great potential

It's OK, but only because it's her. The same track by anyone else wouldn't be on my chart. But i'm getting this bad feeling that this will be like Hollywood and be badly misrepresentative of her album and no-one will care about her other singles.

It ain't a bad song, but I love (loved?) Marina's brand of alternative sounding pop. I was hoping for some more kooky and offbeat songs. This is too current and not what I expected...
