John Mayer's new album 'Born and Raised' delayed to 2012

John Mayer has been forced to cancel two concerts and postpone the release of his new album due to ill health.

The 'Half Of My Heart' singer announced that a planned gig in Los Angeles with Tony Bennett and a second date in Las Vegas next weekend had been axed due to the discovery of a granuloma - an inflamed nodule of tissue - near his vocal chords.

"I'm bummed to have to bow out," Mayer wrote on Tumblr. "I know there were people depending on me to be there and I'm sorry that I can't be on those stages."

The 33-year-old added that his fifth studio LP Born And Raised would be postponed until late next year due to his vocal issues.

"[The album] is complete as far as music recording, song selection and in some cases mixing, but because of this condition I couldn't finish singing on several of the tracks," he explained.

"This is a temporary setback, though I'm not sure how long or short a period of time it will be. I've got the best doctors in the country looking after me and I will be singing and touring again as soon as I get the all clear."
I hope he gets better soon. I can't wait for a new Mayer album 8-)

I didn't like most of Battle Studies, but I thought Assassin was excellent.

The cover reminds me of P!ATD's Pretty. Odd.

Anyway I lost interest in him after Battle Studies
