Town was AWESOME! Everyone just uniting over the irish victory! Us Kiwis are just estatic for your winirishguy28 wrote:What a beautifully unexpected victory!
Tonight, Auckland truly is the real capital of Ireland. Although it's rooted in the deep seated cross-Tasman rivalry, I have never before witnessed a country so whole-heartedly adopt another as happened tonight. The Aussie fans were totally outnumbered.
Thank you New Zealand.
Woo Neil you're in the same country as meirishguy28 wrote:I'm staying in the Russian team hotel in Rotorua! Some of the support crew (or even players?) have Aussie/NZ accents!!!
Tell me about it! It makes the rest of us people look terrible. I love you Aussies reallyVirgostar wrote:I think some of your countrypeople Megan appear to be going a bit OTT with the Trans-Tasman rivalry. Sure, it's a rivalry that gets fierce at times, but no need to be so hostile.
Well your media hate us already for pinching Robbie Deans, not to mention having a Kiwi in our side who likes to mess with your captain. I wouldn't be surprised to see some sort of violence in the streets if that were to happen (mind you, the way we've been playing & getting injured, I doubt we'll make the semis).Shorty wrote:Tell me about it! I dread to think what would happen if Australia beat NZ in a gameMass lynchings of Aussies in the street or something!
I was there for the incredible weekend when Ireland beat Australia! And I'll be there again tomorrow evening.Shorty wrote:

Are you coming up to Auckland at any point?
Indeed...I was glad I wasn't a Wallaby that night leaving Eden Park! Not only did they have to contend with the shock and disappointment of losing what they saw as a regular just-turn-up-and-win game, but they had to contend with the local kids who were quite unabashed in their mocking.Shorty wrote:
But ugh at the attitude of Kiwis here towards AustraliansThey're being extremely rude towards visitors to our country, and some have said they won't ever return. Good job guys, let's put people off visting NZ
LOL, they're all like 'Tournament ending injury for Dan Carter OMG!!!!!'Virgostar wrote:Megan, how is your country reacting to the news about Dan Carter? Are they all talking about it like Graham Henry did, as if he's died? I mean, come on, the guy did a groin injury, he didn't lose a freaking leg or something! I think losing him has put a big dent in NZ's World Cup hopes, but I wouldn't count the All Blacks as being down and out just yet. Colin Slade might want to sharpen his skills & presence though if he's going to be picked as #10 in this knockout phase...
In 2007, NZ were supposed to be the best team in the world and they had been knocked out of the tournament by France.Shorty wrote:England will probably beat France, cos if you ask me, France seem to be having problemsThey got beaten by Tonga
Unless they're just faking everybody out, and will pull out the big guns now it's the quarter finals
shame on you thenVirgostar wrote:Yes, England are my least fave team at this Cup, despite having English ancestry.
Hey, you don't need to tell me that. I knowFormusic wrote:In 2007, NZ were supposed to be the best team in the world and they had been knocked out of the tournament by France.Shorty wrote:England will probably beat France, cos if you ask me, France seem to be having problemsThey got beaten by Tonga
