Anyone read the comics? My boyfriend leant me four of the collected trade paperbacks and I started reading after the premiere last night and was hooked, I read all of book #1 and about 1/3 of book #2.

The first book was very similar to season one, except for the CDC storyline. But you can tell about what point the book and TV show splinter off into different stories. At the end of the first book a certain character dies that I don't see going anywhere on the show anytime soon.

partial comic spoilers in post so you're warned, after all I'm spoiling the book, not the series:

I don't care for Shane either. I normally swoon over guys with shaved heads, but a shaved head doesn't enhance his looks at all . I am surprised that they changed the show compared to the comics because he died far earlier in the book and yet on this he's still around for the Herschel/farm storyline.

Curious to see if they're going to get to the prison before the season is up because that is where the comic book really takes form and becomes EPIC. I read books 3 and 4 of the trade paperbacks literally in an hour because I could not put them down as it gets so addicting when they take refuge in a former prison and new characters are added.

yer since the kid got shot it's been dull as hell. Nice twist of him killing the guy though however vile it makes his character

At the same time, Otis did kinda have it coming, after all he shot a kid. Not only that but the kid was having this zen moment in the forest looking at the deer and the guy shot that too.

This show is not boring.

I think some fans forget that TWD is a character-driven show. It's not about the zombies. It's about the people.

Agreed!! I don't believe Otis had it coming (he didn't mean to shoot Carl), Shane offered to stay behind but Otis wanted to save them both so what Shane did was awful, if the truth comes out I doubt they'll let him stay (more likely they'll shoot him or leave him to the zombies)

I loved the ending, shows that nobody is safe on this show.

Bring on the prison!

What an ending to the show!!! (until Feb 2012 unfortunately)

This second series has been great but they have to move on at some point and after this I guess they won't want to stay there anyway, I never saw that coming at all

The ending was great although it was pretty obvious (to me) Sophia was in the barn. It was just too obvious. I did like how it showed ALL of the survivors up though shooting away like that then oh sh*t.

The season so far though has been boring as hell. I've fell asleep twice and turned one off. The whole farm saga was dry with a couple of exciting points i.e. Shane killing Otis.

It seems so obvious now but I just never saw that coming (guess I was hopeful they would find her alive), I was expecting to see the farmer guy's wife

I can see why some are bored with them being on the farm all this time but it is time they moved on

Yea I am glad they do seem to be doing that and to be honest, it wouldn't have seemed so boring if there was no mid season break. Now it's like 'after all season of talking and boredom we get the final bang and thats it!?'

The most exciting part for me was when the walkers ambushed them on the highway at the start. It was actually terrifying even though, close up, the zombies are acting and made up pretty badly.

^Bitch, bitch, bitch. Moan, moan, moan.

I *loved* this season.

The creator has said, again and again, that the series is about the humans, not the zombies.

Exactly, same with the comics. It's about the humans coping in a post-zombie apocalypse more than its about the zombie attacks

Yes! Shane & Andrea are my favourites. The last episode when Shane went sick and opened the barn was the best episode yet - such a good twist to have Sophia walk out at the end, I was so sick of them looking for her too. Hershel is deluded, let's hope he's woken up to reality when the season resumes, can't wait till next month!

Good opener to the next part of the season, the end scenes in the bar were tense. A bit annoying that Lori had that accident, I hope we don't get another re-hash of the Carl story where she's on the verge of death for several episodes.

There's no need for you to be so rude. My God you are acting like you created the damn show. I'm still watching the damn show and I am allowed to say that the first half was boring because, compared to the first season, it was in my opinion.

You seem to forget the influx of Zombie movies that have almost saturated the market therefore this series was always going to have to do something amazing to capitalise.

However, this first half of series 2 just seemed like the same episode time and time again. Back and forth about whether they were allowed to stay, saving that damn son every week. It was SO stale. I understand development, and pace and it works in the graphic novels.

Here, they could have shown some of what was happening in the cities in perhaps an unrelated cut just so it didn't start resembling Little House on the Prarie.
