I usually don't look up the lyrics until very late, as I prefer trying to interpret them in my own way, it becomes more spontanteous.

But after a while, it's always nice to see the exact lyrics as they can (and often manages to) take a song to a higher level.

The lyrics throughout the whole The Dreaming album have inspired my own writing and thinking so much, it's un-conventional and imaginative.

I loved this youtube comment on the "There Goes A Tenner" video:

"Kate Bush will still be considered ahead of her time in 2215. ? The Dreaming will be one of three things the Aliens put in their safe deposit box."
 .. So true!

Good! ;) Then again, with some artists, you can live without having read the lyrics.

Another amusing and true comment on youtube, under the video for The Sensual World:

"Kate taking her scarf off and letting her hair down is sexier than a million? Rhiannas or Beyonces gyrating around half naked."

VIDEO

Indeed. She is very sexy, although not always seeking that attention, she's just so natural and has this incredible flow. Oh... her movements in this video!!!

She's different though, I think she writes with a very interesting twist (sometimes!).

I was 11 years old. I did not know Kate Bush. I loved the video. It looked like out of a Czech fairytale movie, but the music, the music was fresh and light and uplifting, promising and how she danced and whispered. I wanted to see more, but when I remember right they only broadcasted about 20 seconds or so of each song and I had to wait another week and hope the song still charts in either the German, UK or US charts. ARD is the first TV channel, and there was a music video show every Saturday called "Formel 1" and I loved it to death because I never had MTV, only radio to enjoy music. Yes, my childhood was depressing. Oh and they did not show the part without the scarf! I guess I wondered how this movie would continue and where this woman came from and what she did in this forest.

Thanks for sharing! Very interesting!

I think she was quite big in Germany during that time of her career wasn't she? I can't get the picture out of my head: you sitting in front of the TV watching Kate move like a godess! Especially when the picture that I have of you in my head is that alien rabbit figure in your avatar!

I can't imagine how it must've been, being alive at the actual time when Kate released her 80's albums! I wish I could go back in time and experience how it was.

Only 20 seconds huh? How cheap! Yeah, sounds depressing allright! :P

I just found a page. You can see, it must have been Folge 260. She came right before Robin Beck. Oh how I loved this TV show.

http://www.formeleins-musik.de/0_Seiten ... meSet.html
I also loved that Belinda Carlisle track.

 I drew the rabbit myself. It really exists, a very small stuffed animal. It is not alien, just a little lost because it is from a story I made where he lost his friend.

You can't imagine? Well, it was a time of fantastic music, but you could not listen to it very often. Only radio, I loved the chart shows on the radio.

Monday 7 p.m.: UK single charts
Tuesday 7 p.m.: US single charts (or was it the other way?)
Friday 7 p.m.: German single charts

And then sometimes at 11 p.m. they played tracks from a brandnew album for 30 minutes which was great as well.

There was no other way to experience new music for me but go into a record store and listen there. Or just buy it.

And then everyone around me got MTV but I didn't. :x

Oh! A long post! :D

I'll read it tomorrow! Jumping into bed now, early morning tomorrow!

I will turn off the lights and lay down, listening to the Jamie Cullum interview again until I fall asleep! :D

Gute Nacht Chun!

I usually use a quote about Kate Bush from a video I watched a lot some time ago, but could not find it for some time now until crazycrazy posted it in one of his personal charts, so thanks B!

All you need to know about Kate Bush in about 1 minute

The quote is:

"Hello! I've made a new album! Good-Bye!

I don't understand anything from that site, but don't we all miss having a proper music video channel? Obviously, I was VH1 Classic a lot, but the other one only shows the same crap that's on the charts over and over, with few expections. Not like in the old days.

The rabbit looks a bit scary though. Was it a horror story you wrote?

Yeah! I might not be as old as you, but I remember being very, very young, and they used to play the UK and the US chart as well I think once during the week, with snippets from each track - and it was the most exciting thing ever! Radio is very underrated. I still get a lot of buzz from listening to the radio.

Poor Chun did not have MTV!

Nooo it was supposed to be a love story. But it went all wrong and now we are separated     :x The rabbit is really nice. Nothing scary. I don't like my old radio station now. I got disconnected to it when I studied at university and really missed it a lot in the beginning. Yes, no MTV  I had a strange music taste, and sometimes I heard a snipped of a damn cool new song but did not hear it again for 10 years ,even if I managed to remember some part of its name, for example, Malcolm McLaren. They did not have that in my local stores. Or, There was this track called Infinity with a saxophone. Did not know what it was, saw it once on TV for 20 seconds and it was gone for 20 years.  And I loved it.

I know how you must've felt, although it was a bit easier for me growing up in the 90's. The song with the saxophone, do you mean this one?

Oh. That sucks!

Guru Josh - Infinity, that's the one, you might find it somewhere else? I hope it's the right track though. It became a really big hit 2-3 years ago in an updated remix, it has the same title, only difference is "Guru Josh Project".
