How did you do that? :D
No when you sign up, there is an application which imports all of your plays from your iTunes etc and puts your overall plays on your profile.

And sometimes you can scrobble tracks from your iPod and it goes through all at once

I once scrobbled 12,000 tracks that had built up on my iPod over the months and they submitted all at the same time :o

Hahah yeah, it happened cos I hadn't connected my iPod to my PC in months. I went from about 140k to about 153k. I just burst out laughing when I looked at the list of songs to scrobble cos it went on forever  It was more songs then I even have on my PC doubled!

And of course when I tried to scrobble them all at once, it crashed the scrobbler :-? I had to do it in sections.

Nah, it had nothing to with my dialup, actually :o It was more the scrobbler was overloaded trying to cope with 12,000 tracks  The lastfm plug literally crashed, going to 'not responding' meaning my internet wasn't to blame

Waiiiiiit, so how does it know how many times you have listened to something on your Ipod? How does it separate ipod plays from itunes plays?

The last fm application opens when you open iTunes, if you are playing a song on iTunes, it will scrobble it from that, and then when you connect your iPod it will scrobble all of the plays on that.

You may need to check that your scrobbler application is on because sometimes mine isn't, look on the bottom right of your desktop bar and open up the last fm application - go to Help> Diagnostics> Reconnect. When you scrobble by playing songs on iTunes, it will usually scrobble the song even if you don't finish playing the track, check the application to see when it will scrobble the track. :D

Screwing up your chart how?

The only thing I can think of is to close down the scrobbler and restart it :-?

 Well I guess he means because it's not scrobbling correctly, it's missing many plays and as such is not reflecting what he is really listening to.

Btw the scrobbler has been working really well for me recently. :D

Try un-installing it and re-installing it, I used to find it very unstable sometimes it would scrobble all of my iPod scrobbles sometimes it wouldn't scrobble them all. :-?

I've had to go my settings and clear my entire play history on Lastfm and resync my iTunes with the scrobbler at least then your whole library will have the correct amount of plays and will match up with your iTunes. :)

I rarely have problems with the scrobbler. My problems are usually site wide and affect everybody.

I've never had to reinstall the plugin or resync it, I'm really lucky

Speaking of which, this has reminded me to charge my iPod *plugs it in*

Well I remember you (I think it was you) saying that your Lastfm plays did not match up with your iTunes plays, if you just did a re-sync it would all be correct. :D

Yes it does. If you are disconnected while listening to iTunes etc, the scrobbler app just piles up the tracks and when you reconnect they will all be scrobbled.
