It does matter on which channel it's on... If it's on RTL a show has automatically more viewers than on Vox... There have to be millions of sheep that never switch away from RTL.

It's been climbing for the last 5 weeks now . I think if Unheilig promoted the album AFTER Christmas 2010, it could've done even far more. You can definately see that after leaving the top 5 for the first time, it fell rather fast. The fact that Geboren um zu leben received catalog-appeal somehow made it stay in the top 40 for quite a long time, but if the era ran through all 2011 and they had released another 2 top-5/10-hits, Große Freiheit's sales could be another 300-500k higher, it could've managed 2 more weeks at No. 1 (and so would had the longest charting album at No. 1 in the time of Media Control) and it propably would've been in the year's top 3 again...
Usually it's the case that if something's successful, you try to do the best to keep the streak of success as long as possible but Unheilig somehow didn't think so...

Their new album is out in late February... How do you think will it do? I think if the lead single gets as popular as Geboren um zu leben, the album could easily debut with sales of 200k and the last album to do so was Herbert Grönemeyer's 12 afaik.
Plus, it could be the first German No.-1-single in over 2 years....
Can it also do something for Große Freiheit's sales? There must be a lot of people who still don't know the band (or only know Geboren um zu leben) or have been sceptic if the album's as good as Geboren um zu leben promises so if they see that their next album is a success, too, they also get interested in that one... The question is just, if that happens: How high can Große Freiheit go again?

It's been climbing for the last 5 weeks now . I think if Unheilig promoted the album AFTER Christmas 2010, it could've done even far more. You can definately see that after leaving the top 5 for the first time, it fell rather fast. The fact that Geboren um zu leben received catalog-appeal somehow made it stay in the top 40 for quite a long time, but if the era ran through all 2011 and they had released another 2 top-5/10-hits, Große Freiheit's sales could be another 300-500k higher, it could've managed 2 more weeks at No. 1 (and so would had the longest charting album at No. 1 in the time of Media Control) and it propably would've been in the year's top 3 again...
Usually it's the case that if something's successful, you try to do the best to keep the streak of success as long as possible but Unheilig somehow didn't think so...

Their new album is out in late February... How do you think will it do? I think if the lead single gets as popular as Geboren um zu leben, the album could easily debut with sales of 200k and the last album to do so was Herbert Grönemeyer's 12 afaik.
Plus, it could be the first German No.-1-single in over 2 years....
Can it also do something for Große Freiheit's sales? There must be a lot of people who still don't know the band (or only know Geboren um zu leben) or have been sceptic if the album's as good as Geboren um zu leben promises so if they see that their next album is a success, too, they also get interested in that one... The question is just, if that happens: How high can Große Freiheit go again?

I think Unheilig promoted the album as much as anyone could ever do. I guess they performed on every TV show that exists on German TV.

The new album will by no doubt debut with very high sales and also push "Grosse Freiheit" again - but that will never ever go top 3 again. If they're lucky they'll reach a lower top 10 position with it, but I guess it'll "only" climb back into the top 20.
