After School's firt Japanese album is out in March 2012! It will feature "Bang!", "Diva", "Because of You", "Rambling Girls", "Shampoo" and 6 new tracks!

I feel like After School are really doing it right in Japan. They're actually following a good Japanese release schedule (like SHINee did). 3 singles and then the album. Secret and 2NE1 just release a single and a mini album like it would have happend in Korea!

SPIN's 20 Best Pop Albums of 2011
14. Perfume
JPN
Just as shiny, but not remotely as nuanced, as the art-hop robo-bop bouillabaisse popping off in neighboring Korea, Japanese pop trio Perfume still strike hard thanks to a monolithic, overblown maximalism. Third album JPN is a neon-blinking wash of clinical synths and utopian melodies — perfectly punk in both the Daft and pop senses — a near-android gush of voices adrift in the ether and AutoTune so clinical that you could eat off of it.

^ Same!

My favourite Japanese albums of 2011:
Aira Mitsuki x Saori@destiny - PARK OF THE SAFARI
Aural Vampire - Kerguelen Vortex
capsule - WORLD OF FANTASY
Chiaki Kuriyama - CIRCUS
DOUBLE - Woman
Girls Generation - Girls' Generation
hitomi - Spirit
immi - SPIRAL
JASMINE - Gold
KOTOKO - Hiraku Uchuu Pocket
Kumi Koda - Dejavu
Kou Shibasaki - CIRCLE CYCLE
MAA - Bubbleman Engine
MADEMOISELLE YULIA - Mademoworld
Meisa Kuroki - MAGAZINE
Miki Furuwaka - Very
Namie Amuro - Checkmate!
Sakanaction - DocumentaLy
Saori@destiny - Domestic Domain
school food punishment - Prog.Roid
YU-A - 2 Girls

BENI, Maki Goto, Kana Nishino + Perfume's albums were big disappointments.

I love these ones, they'd be in my list too, especially MAA and Meisa 8-)

I'd also add:

Perfume - JPN
Becky - Kaze to Melody (released on my birthday 8-))
Thelma Aoyama - Love Story
Rie fu - I Can Do Better
Ami Suzuki - Ami Selection

I know those last two are best of albums but I love them :D

Any of those albums in your list you think I'd like James? I'm in the mood for some J-pop I haven't heard yet :D

As for 2012, I'd like new albums from Ayu (obviously), Anna Tsuchiya (<3), BONNIE PINK (it's been way too long since her last album), Namie (obviously), MiChi (I love her so much <3) and probably more I forget :-?

^ Yeah Namie + MiChi better release albums this year lol.

+ Shorty, (you've listened to Girls Generation album right?) I think you'd really like:

hitomi - Spirit
Mademoiselle Yulia - Mademoworld
immi - SPIRAL

The first two are good electropop, Western sounding too. I love them. + immi's album is electronic kind of like Perfume + MAA but more experimental. :)

+ if you want rocky go for Chiaki Kuriyama's CIRCUS album because it's quite poppy too, reminds me of an Ayu album :)

Yeah I love Girls' Generation album, it's my jam atm 8-)

Cool, I'll go check them out. Ooh excited, last time you recommended me an artist, it was MAA and I love her so much, so I'm optimistic :D
