And while Sande may have been behind some of the biggest hits of 2010, in 2011 she’s finally breaking out on her own with debut album Our Version of Events. “I’m a bit nervous to go it alone, but I’m excited.”
Both The Sun and 4Music are reporting today the Emeli's debut album will be called 'Our Version Of Events'. It will obviously include Heaven and her next single Daddy.

So excited for this! Heaven is just amazing and Daddy sounds great aswell. She's very talented.

She has also done an amazing Bizz Session for The Sun including a sensational cover of Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall.

Love the title. Can't wait for this album, it's one of my most anticipated at the moment.

I wonder if it will be Massive Attack-que style album? Or something chill-out/dance orientated thing.

Nevertheless, can't wait!

I keep reading she has written songs for Cheryl Cole, does anyone more about that? Because I just looked at both Cheryl's album booklets again and here name is nowhere credited.

She wrote one of my favourite Cheryl songs, 'Boys'. The much superior B-side to '3 Words'

Thanks!
Don't think I've ever heard that before (bad Cheryl fan  ) but it's really good! Indeed much better than 3 Words (not that it's that hard, easily her worst single).

She performed an acoustic version of 'Next To Me' for 1Xtra Livelounge. The song sounds incredible.

I have a feeling her album could be one of the potential albums for Mercury Prize next year if it's as good as I think it'll be.

She's performed so many great songs acoustically. I can't wait to hear the studio versions of Kill The Boy, Easier In Bed, Daddy and Next To Me.

I think you're right about the Mercury Prize nomination. If her album is as consistently good as it looks set to be then she'll at least be in the longlist.

Really liking that cover, then come the dreaded words "January 30, 2012".

I saw her yesterday as Coldplay's support act and I think I love her even more now  She is such a fantastic vocalist.
Professor Green even joined her for Read All About It which was my personal highlight. Nobody around me seemed to know the song, but I was singing and waving the whole time. Just so AMAZING to see them both on stage.
She also performed a couple of songs I hadn't heard before and they all sounded absolutely brilliant, especially a song called Suitcase and Mountains. Hope they make the album. She announced Next To Me as the next single aswell.
I sat right next to the stage and saw both her and Professor Green standing backstage before they came on stage, that already made me so excited!

From Popjustice

So here is the thing with the Emeli Sandé album. It is really good. The songwriting is, in lots of parts, of an extremely high standard. Vocally it's stunning. It's got 'Heaven' on it, and that's one of last year's best singles.

So what's the problem? Well, we mentioned it in the Readers' Poll results commentary, but here it is again. Do you remember 14 months ago when 'Do It Like A Dude' made people think Jessie J was one thing, when in fact she was something a little bit different, but by the time everyone realised what was happening she'd already topped a load of critics' lists and it was too late to ring the Bedingfield alarm? Well at least when the Jessie J music was being sent around 'Price Tag' and 'Who You Are' were among the tracks, so there was some hint of what was to come, even if the true extent was not revealed.

But the Emeli album is a real shock. The easiest way to describe it is like this: it sounds like a Leona Lewis album. We liked both Leona Lewis albums, but you know what we mean. This is not what we were expecting. Another way to describe it: imagine if Lana Del Rey's album was full of songs like this.

Nothing else on Emeli's album sounds like 'Heaven'. There are lots of pianos and strings and acoustic guitars, and songs called things like 'Mountains', 'Hope', 'River' and, er, 'Suitcase'. There's a song that interpolates the strings bit from 'One Night Stand' by The Aloof. Her own 'singer songwriter' version of 'Read All About It' (Part 3, apparently) is included at the end.

Basically this album is going to sell shitloads, she'll be doing acoustic versions of various tracks from it on 90% of all mobile operator-funded online music sessions strands and backstage festival reports between May and September, she'll do well in America, blah blah blah. And like we say, most of the songs are of a stupidly high standard. But as good as it is, 'Our Version Of Events' is not the album you think it is going to be.

Basically buy the CD, rip the tracks you like, then give the disc to your mum.
Never expected after hearing what I've heard so far, them mentioning Leona

I'm hyped for this regardless of whether or not it's a bit Leona-y

I'll try not and let the Leona comparisons dampen my excitement for this. I'd die if we got another 'Echo'. :P
