That's a pretty solid list of tracks right there, not much I disagree with!

Great to see some love for 'Wonderland' and particularly 'L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N.'. I also agree that the Coldplay artwork has been amazing this era, perhaps the best part of the era overall.

Thanks for all the comments! :D

020. Foster The People - Pumped Up Kicks
I remember thinking this was such a fun and care free song until I read the lyrics and found out what I really was about. You certainly don't expect that while listening to the song without really listening to the lyrics. It's just a very good song and one of the biggest surprise hits of the year for me. Love the video aswell. Simple but so effective.

Image
019. The Saturdays - Notorious
The Saturdays went for a dancier sound with the release of this song. While it wasn't the big hit most of us fans were hoping, I still think the song itself is brilliant. It's so catchy and Mollie singing that 'she's a gangsta' is just the cutest thing ever  The girls did some great live performances for this aswell and I just couldn't stop singing the lyrics during the summer. Although it is a bit weird when I sing some of them ofcourse.

Image
018. Nicki Minaj - Super Bass
Nicki already did pretty well in the UK, but it wasn't until this song that she scored a massive hit. I can totally see why, it's just so unbelievably catchy! It's a lot more pop than most of her songs, but I think she does this so well. The video reminded me a lot of a 2011 version of California Gurls, so bright and colourful.

Image
017. Emeli Sandé - Heaven
Emeli is for me definitely one of the most exciting new artists. Heaven was her first solo single and became a big hit for her. I didn't like it at first, but I remember Fearne playing it on Radio 1 and I just fell in love with it. Such a good song and she is an amazing vocalist. I saw her live last month and she is just phenomenal.

Image
016. Tinie Tempah featuring Kelly Rowland - Invincible
Invincible is one of the highlights on Tinie's brilliant debut album. While the song did pretty well, I think most people have already forgotten about it. Like with Jessie's What Laughing Now, it feels more like a release between two obvious singles. But I think this is such a gorgeous song, much better than Wonderman for example. Tinie is on top form and Kelly sounds so beautiful aswell. The perfect combination for this song. ADORE the video aswell.

Image
015. Lady GaGa - Judas
I absolutely hated this when I heard it for the first time. I was thinking to myself, what is the doing!? As this was actually the first Lady GaGa song I didn't like. It changed pretty fast after that and I now think this is so good. Her voice sounds so moody on it, that's what I love. The 'bring them down, down down' parts are my favourite. The video is definitely the best one of this era and I have to say how beautiful she looks in it.
It did pretty bad everywhere though, especially for a big name like her but it's so catchy. One of the highlights on the very disappointing album.

Image
014. Rihanna - S&M
This song is just teh sex and who better to sing it than RiRi? She doesn't take herself too seriously, which she showed with the video and I love her for that. Incredibly catchy, filthy lyrics (and a horrendous Radio 1 edit) and literally everyone was sining this song. I know it's not a popular opinion, but I like the Britney version a lot aswell. Britney sounds so sexy on it.

Image
013. Lady GaGa - Born This Way
This song has been in my top 10 all year and it literally dropped out while posting this update. I realised there are a couple of songs I love more now. This also means that it's Lady GaGa's final entry and it's the first time since I charted her back in 2008 to completely miss the top 10.
This doesn't mean that I don't love this, I still do. It's a great pop song with some very inspirational lyrics. It's still the biggest selling single this era, mostly because of it's insane opening week everywere, and for me personally the best.

Image
012. Jennifer Lopez featuring Pitbull - On The Floor
I don't think anyone could have predicted around this time last year that Jennifer would come back with one of the biggest singles of the year. But she did and proved everyone wrong. Together with Pitbull she stormed the charts with this party track. You just want to stand up and dance when you hear this song. And with the promotional performances she did of this song, she showed once again that she still is one of the best performers out there.

Image
011. Olly Murs - Dance With Me Tonight
And Olly's most recent single just misses the top 10 with an entry at #11 here.
I don't even know where to begin with this song. The opening lines of 'My name is Olly' which I love, the dance moves, the cheeky lyrics which he is known for. This track has such a retro feeling and is still so modern at the same time.
The video is great aswell although the X Factor performance with The Muppets was a little bit random.

That part 'bring them down' is my favourite too! :D

aw, boo @ "Born This Way" falling out of the Top 10 at the very last minute! these subjective charts can be so...fickle. ;) not that No. 13 is that shabby, but still...

also sad to see you found Born This Way to be a "very disappointing album"! I really have to disagree with you there, but at least it looks like we do agree that "Judas" is one of the best tracks on it.

"Super Bass" + "Notorious" = <3 <3 <3

Thank you! :)

Time to start with the top 10 now.

'When I'm nervous I have this thing, yeah I talk too much'

010. Jessie J - Nobody's Perfect
We start the top 10 with Jessie's six entry in my top 200, her third single Nobody's Perfect. It was the follow up to Price Tag and was another top 10 hit for her.
I know not everyone rates her very highly as a vocalist, which I still don't understand as she has an amazing voice, but you can't deny that she is a great writer. The lyrics to this song are very strong and definitely tell a story. My favourite part is the opening line and the quote I put under the single cover. I also love how she sings the 'I'm not a saint, no not at all, but what I did it wasn't cool' part live, it gives the song something extra.
And since I'm always talking about the music videos, can I just mention that this song has one of my favourite videos of the year.

Maybe I'm in the gap, between the two trapezes'

009. Coldplay - Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall
While I adore Paradise, I have to say that I still think this song is better. The thing with this is, you have to see it live to fully appreciate it. It's just a festival/concert anthem.
I remember when it first leaked and I liked it, but it was until I saw their Glasto set on the television that I fell in love with it. And then I saw them perform this live and I loved it even more, for me it was one of the highlights of the concert and it has become one of my favourite Coldplay songs.

Super Bass, Pumped Up Kicks, S&M, Born This Way & Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall are great.

I think the opposite for Judas actually. Liked it at first but I no longer enjoy it.

I really like Pumped Up Kicks, it's a great little indie song!

Notorious is fierce, Super Bass is absolutely incredible! Heaven is a classic song already, just so classy and different to what's out at the moment!

Invincible is really nice but a bit generic for Tinie's standards, Kelly sounds great on the chorus though! Judas and S&M are fantastic pop songs!

I'm not a huge fan of Born This way, I don't really like it too much! You're right about Jennifer Lopez, her performances of 'On The Floor' have been incredible.

And of course I love Olly Murs!!

Top 10 has started well! Nobody's Perfect is great, I love the video too and Coldplay is great!

Great set of songs there. Saturdays, Tinie Tempah (agreed - totally an album highlight), Lady GaGa, Rihanna & J-Lo.

Also love the Coldplay one which topped my weekly chart.
