WEEK 8 - 25/12/11

Welcome to the charts' Christmas week! As the holidays are getting closer, Mariah takes over the #1 spot! Our previous champion doesn't go too far, though - Florence sits at #2. This week we have only one new entry, which is a Christmas single again.

I admit it's not among the likes of Gaga or Kylie who I usually listen to, but I listen to many types of music and different genres as well, just not on a daily basis.

YES! SO happy to see Mariah at No. 1! "Oh Santa!" may not be quite as epic as "All I Want For Christmas Is You", but it's definitely miles better than most modern holiday songs. <3

I've given "Hit The Lights" a couple listens, and I'm not too crazy about it yet, which is disappointing, since both "Who Says" and "Love You Like A Love Song" are among my favorite songs of 2011.

Hello again! Hopefully the New Year has been nice for you so far!

And what else would fit the new year if not new entries? Yup, as I've completely abandoned them during last week, almost all Christmas songs are leaving the chart. Therefore, they let a bunch of new songs make their debut. An impressive six new tracks are entering this week, including Lana Del Rey and Jessie J. Hey guys! I'm here with the results of the first week of 2012.

After an impressive 10-week-long run, Björk's Moon leaves the Top Songs chart - to give place to another Björk song! There are some surprising changes in the Top 5: after charting in the Top 3 for eight consecutive weeks, Florence falls to #4. Lana Del Rey snatches two positions in the Top 10.

wow, great to see that Gaga's back at No. 1 and holding strong!

"Domino" is undeniably catchy...but it's just SUCH a blatant Katy Perry/Teenage Dream knock-off, I can't get into it. Dr. Luke and Max Martin need to mix things up a bit...
