#70: Suikoden II [PS1/PC/Mobile] [40 Points]
Voters: Vindrag

Rating: 81% [Gamerankings] 82/100 [Metacritic]
Gameplay Video

Vindrag's #1 game crashes out at #70, I've played Suikoden V only and the game was fantastic, maybe the game will feature higher?

Story: he game begins with the Hero and his childhood friend Jowy Atreides working together as members of the youth division of the Highland Army. Luca Blight, the prince of Highland, and Captain Rowd, the Hero’s commanding officer, orchestrate the slaughter of Hero's and Jowy's unit and blame it on the neighboring city-state of Jowston, giving the prince an excuse to invade Jowston. The Hero and Jowy escape the slaughter by jumping off a cliff into a river.
They meet again after the Hero is fished from the river by a group of mercenaries from the first game—Viktor and Flik—and Jowy is rescued from the river by a girl named Pilika from the town of Toto. The Hero is forced to work for the mercenaries , until Jowy eventually finds him, and the two escape to their hometown of Kyaro in Highland. Upon arriving and reuniting with the Hero's sister, Nanami, the two are tried as spies against Highland and sentenced to death, but are saved by Viktor and Flik and return with the mercenaries.

#69: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 [PS2] [40 Points]
Voters: crazycrazy

Rating: 92.4% [Gamerankings] 90/100 [Metacritic]
Gameplay Video--- Gameplay Video 2

My #1 now! :( The game is truly remarkable, everything I want in an RPG and so much more, it rejuvenated my love for games, so very under-rated masterpiece, it is a MUST play for everyone, Persona 3 is also incredible, watch out for it.

Story: Persona 4 takes place in the fictional, rural Japanese town of Inaba, which lies among floodplains and has its own high school and shopping districts. Unexplained murders have taken place in the small town, where bodies are found dangling among television antennas and their cause of death unknown. At the same time, rumor has begun to spread that watching a switched-off television set on rainy midnights will reveal a person's soulmate. Following the rumor, a group of high-school students discovered a fog-shrouded world accessed through television sets infested with monsters called Shadows.
They also discovered each of their Shadow Selves, symbolizing their suppressed personalities. Confronting their Shadow Selves awakened their ability to summon beings known as Personas. Using Personas, the students formed the Investigation Team to investigate the connection between the TV world and the murders, and possibly capture the culprit.[

#68: Pathologic [PC] [40 Points]
Voters: Alexz
Image
Rating: 66% [Gamerankings] 67/100 [Metacritic]
Gameplay Video

Alexz's #1 game here, not sure what to make of it, looks ok not sure I'd enjoy it though.

Story: The game is about three people who are known mostly by their nicknames. Two men Bachelor (????????) and Haruspex (????????), and a girl nicknamed Devotress (??????????). Each of whom tries to uncover the source of a strange lethal sickness that befalls a small town. Although you can play as each of them, there is only one storyline, which is seen from different points of view depending upon the chosen character. Some of the secrets can be uncovered only by the consecutive playing of each character. Every day you receive quests from NPCs and at exactly midnight of each day, the incomplete quests are erased from your notebook. Quests are divided into main missions (one per day, which decide if a major character will die), and side quests to complete to earn money and items.
On the edge of town, there is a great building named Polyhedron (????????????), an impossible geometric structure used as a fortress by children. On the opposite side, a great ominous mountain called the Abattoir, with the Apiary, an insane asylum, next to it. All districts and major buildings of the town are named after body parts and biology.

No one else voted for the legend of F1 Challenge 99-02 :(

The game is a mod legend already. Numerous sites are based on building new seasons, cars etc for the base game. Because EA Sports let the game install in a very open coded way, even I can easily change some datas in the game and go like 450 km/h on the straights or make the cars weight 1500 kilos and enjoy the outcome. (the real wieght is 600 kg).

The game is now has all the seasons of 80's 90's 00's, and they are all amazing!

Ok, enough about me crying over this shit

I was addicted to Championship Manager when I was younger - literally played on it for hours! A lot of my friends were the same (me and my mate had a two player game going for years!). I can see why it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea though!

I think the first thing you need to enjoy those games is an interest in football, which I just don't have at all!

I loved #3! Still not completed it though this countdown has prompted me to buy some more games not bought any in ages! :D
The third game is my least favourite, mainly due to those damn box puzzles the game is full of! I hated them, and I actually gave up on the game before the end cos I got frustrated at a box puzzle. Thankfully, the fourth game eliminates them and replaces them with stealth elements instead which are much easier.

As for the chart, I haven't played any of the chart games or the missed :o

And so many #1 ranked games in this part! I must be one of the few people left with their #1 game still intact?

I have a feeling you'd love the Persona series, great anime style RPG/Simulation games, they have some of the best music for a game ever as well and it's J-pop so that's right up your street and the games are so cool and engrossing!! Try it! :D

Regarding the Persona series, I see the one in the chart is for the PS2. Is that the only platform they're on? Cos I only have access to PS2, DS and PC.

#65: Kingdom Hearts [PS2] [40 Points]
Voters: RunDevilRun, crazycrazy
Image
Rating: 86.56% [Gamerankings] 85/100 [Metacritic]
TRAILER

I just love this game, so much FUN! Fast paced and engrossing game, scheming disney villains and the battles in this game are all totally crazy but this game is very rewarding, a surprise for me ~ in my votes this one!

Story: The universe of Kingdom Hearts is a collection of various levels, referred to as "worlds", through which the player must progress. Thirteen can be accessed in the game and one, Disney Castle, is shown in cutscenes. Additional worlds are mentioned by various characters, but are inaccessible because they have been destroyed by the Heartless, beings of darkness. Ten of the worlds are based on Disney fiction, primarily from the Disney animated features canon, and the other four were created by Square specifically for the game.
The graphics and characters of each world were designed to resemble the artwork style of its respective Disney film. Each Disney world is inhabited by characters from their respective film; Hercules and Philoctetes inhabit Olympus Coliseum, while Aladdin, Princess Jasmine, and Jafar inhabit Agrabah. Each world is disconnected from the others and exists separately. Most characters in the worlds are unaware of the other worlds' existence, with few exceptions. Players travel from one world to another via Gummi Ship.

#64: Super Smash Bros. Brawl [Wii] [41 Points]
Voters: Vindrag, dee1
Image
Rating: 92.75% [Gamerankings] 93/100 [Metacritic]
INTRO VIDEO/GAMEPLAY

Melee was great although I did not vote for it as it doesn't have longevity unless you have someone else to play it with, have not played this one.

#63: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney [GBA/NDS/PC/Wii/Mobile] [41 Points]
Voters: Shorty, JimJim
Image
Rating: 83% [Gamerankings] 81/100 [Metacritic]
TRAILER

Story: The first case of the game presents defense attorney Phoenix Wright at his first trial under Mia Fey's watchful eye, successfully defending his childhood friend Larry Butz for murder. However, in the game's second case, Mia is murdered for being aware of corporate blackmail, and her younger sister Maya Fey is charged with the crime because her name was found on a piece of evidence. While defending her, Phoenix is reintroduced to another childhood friend, Miles Edgeworth, who is the prosecutor for Maya's case and has established himself as a "genius" for the prosecution system. Maya is found not guilty of the crime, and becomes Phoenix's assistant in further cases, offering her channeling ability as a "Spirit Medium" of Kurain village to bring the spirit of Mia to help at critical times. Phoenix and Edgeworth find that while they have their friendship from their youth, they continue to face off against each other in the courtroom.

#62: Final Fantasy VIII [PS1/PC] [41 Points]
Voters: RunDevilRun, crazycrazy
Image
Rating: 89.17% [Gamerankings] 90/100 [Metacritic]
Opening Video

Sad that this Final Fantasy & RPG CLASSIC has fallen so early, all of the early PS1 games have become classics in the genre and deservedly so, oh the memories, amazing they are!

Story: Final Fantasy VIII begins as Squall duels with Seifer in a training session outside the Balamb Garden military academy. Meanwhile, Galbadia invades the Dollet Dukedom, forcing Dollet to hire assistance from the Balamb Garden branch of "SeeD", Garden's elite mercenary force. SeeD uses the mission as a final examination for its cadets; with the help of his instructor, Quistis, Squall passes the mission's prerequisite and is grouped with Seifer and Zell. Seifer disobeys orders and abandons his team, forcing Selphie to accompany Squall and Zell for the duration of the mission. After the mission, SeeD halts the Galbadian advance; Squall, Zell, and Selphie graduate to SeeD status, while Seifer is disciplined for his disobedience. During the graduation party, Squall meets Rinoa, whose personality is apparently the opposite of his. When assigned with Zell and Selphie to help Rinoa's resistance faction in Galbadian-occupied Timber, Squall learns that a sorceress named Edea is behind Galbadia's recent hostilities. Under orders from Balamb and Galbadia Gardens, Squall and his comrades—now joined by Rinoa, Quistis, and Irvine—attempt to assassinate Edea. However, the sorceress thwarts the attempt, and the party is detained. During the attempt, Squall's party also learns that Seifer has left Garden to become Edea's second-in-command.

Some great games in that bunch!

Not sure if you've made a mistake there though Crazy, as Mario Kart DS was on my list too, at 27 points.

The Phoenix Wright series is great, it was a refreshing take on a relatively unexplored genre.
