I've had this chart, this chart, this chart, this chart and this chart. I'm a bit like the Sugababes I guess. I've become a bit crap at doing this, but here's version 6.0. Hopefully it'll be more Keisha than Jade. I'm keeping it a lot more simple than I used to, so hopefully I'll be able to keep this one up. You'll see the first chart up tonight...

You are like a much more relevant version of Sugababes!

Some great songs there, especially from Emeli, Rihanna and Lana. :)

She definitely will be! All 3 of her singles have went #1 on my chart, while her collaboration with Wiley (Never Be Your Woman), which introduced me to her was also a #1 when I ran a chart back in 2010. You should check that out if you're getting into her.

adg wrote:I love all of these songs :D Great to see a good mix of genres and older tunes like The Veronicas and 2Pac 8-)
It's so different compared to my first chart back in 2006, which explains my username to be honest. I'm always playing older songs during the week, so there's always a chance some will pop up in the chart.

steophonic wrote:Glad you have started this chart again. I like your musical taste more these days!
Thanks Ste, it's definitely changed a lot since 2010!

Spartan wrote:You are like a much more relevant version of Sugababes!
Phew! So I'm like Katy B then?

If you wanna get into Emeli Sandé, start with 'Heaven'. Had I been running a chart in June 2011 that definitely would have been a #1. 'Love On Top' and 'Born To Die' were both #1s last year. Had I been running a chart back then 'Born To Die' would have dropped very quickly though. Hopefully it'll pick up as the UK release approaches. ;)

Thanks for the comments guys, I'm glad to have a chart up and running again and that it seems to look nice enough. The new chart will be up tomorrow evening.

Commentary
Emile Sandé holds the top spot with current single 'Next To Me', while previous singles 'Daddy' and 'Heaven' fall to #4 and #40. Lots of album tracks and older songs fall off the chart, while Rihanna's 'We Found Love' leaves as 'Talk That Talk' re-enters as a single after I'd played it a lot as an album track before. It's already outpeaked 'You Da One', which charted at #12 and only spent 3 weeks in the top 40, making it one of Rihanna's least successful singles to date.

Niki & The Dove's 'The Fox' is the only current single to fall off the chart, only managing one week in the top 40 at #31. There's big falls for older songs from both Dr Dre and Yasmin, while Delilah's 'Never Be Another' falls due to only being confirmed as an album track at this moment in time. Scissor Sisters and Kankouran see massive falls of over twenty places for their new singles however.

Yasmin, Lostprophets, You Me At Six, Tribes & Jessie J make significant climbs. while Drake makes a massive re-entry much thanks to this 'Take Care' remix and the Foo Fighters make a retro re-entry with 'Times Like These'. Beyoncé re-enters with two previous number 1's, while her husband teamed up with Kanye West also makes a pleasant re-entry on the chart.

New entries come courtesy of Jay-Z & Blue Ivy Carter, up the and coming singer Etta Bond (it's just a track she put out there, not a single), Gotye, Pixie Lott & Alexandra Burke. The new singles from the Arctic Monkeys, Kelly Clarkson, Rebecca Ferguson and Ed Sheeran all probably would have entered the chart during the week their respective albums were released, but I doubt it would have been much different than their current positions, so they're being treated as new entries.

Commentary
Yasmin returns to #1 on her UK release week, as I played 'Light Up (The World)' and its remixes a total of 62 times this week. That's a lot, even for me, which explains why it got over twice as many plays as its nearest competitior. At #2 we have a massive new entry from Redlight with his dance anthem 'Get Out My Head', while Drake's current US urban single 'The Motto' debuts at #3.

Emeli Sandé drops to #4, while Tribes move up to #5 with the release of their album 'Baby'. Professor Green follows up 'Read All About It' with an impressive debut at #6, while Rebecca Ferguson, Lana Del Rey, Gotye, Arctic Monkeys & Alexandra Burke all make impressive climbs as other fall among the new entries.

Azealia Banks makes a debut in the top 20, with 'NEEDSUMLUV'. The song doesn't seem to be a single and was just put out to get Ms Banks some more hype - not that she needs it. Elsewhere Pixie Lott struggles to match the success of 'What Do You Take Me For? ' as 'Kiss The Stars' falls, while Jay-Z's collaboration with his daughter dies as the buzz around Blue Ivy Carter starts to fizzle. Gabrielle Apin just about debuts with 'Home', while the late great Etta James sees 'I'd Rather Go Blind' re-enter at #28, with only one days worth of plays since her death.
