I recently bought the Silent Hill Homecoming promo soundtrack (since there is no full release on the horizon yet), and boy do I love it!

Sadly, it's by miles the best thing about Homecoming. :-?

well i finally i had the chance to play Silent Hill: Homecoming...

Well, i liked it, but you can see that the game was developed by americans and not japanese people...too much action, many impossible monsters, a lot of weapons, the fact of being a "soldier"...some similarities to "hostel"...anyway, the monsters' design was really good, and in pretty moments the game was kinda disturbing, and thats what silent hill is made to! The best by far, the graphics (incredible for silent hill, average for XBOX360)...the worst? the fact of copying many things of the movie? why? the movie failed to reflect the atmosphere of the game, why have you copied it to the game itself??

its not that bad, its really entertaining, you'll like it! its much much much better than silent hill 4, and for me just slightly beyond 3 and 0

Well, if you're not that much into the stories, Homecoming is okay.

Imo, it's a good horror game... just a very bad Silent Hill game.

Btw, there's a new SH game on the horizon for Wii (mainly) as well as PSP and PS2 called Shattered Memories.
For some odd reason it's based off the premise of the first game (Harry Mason looking for his daughter Cheryl) but other than that it seems to be totally different. But there are some interesting gameplay aspects to it.

Ok, well I bought SH: Homecoming over the xmas break and finished it within 4 days. Thought I'd share my thoughts here.

The graphics are excellent for a SH game as Netab said, but for an Xbox 360 it felt a bit average. I thought the gameplay was really good though, I found it easy to control the character during action scenes etc - however, how bloody difficult were the Needlers?!! I got so annoyed when they kept blocking me!!

The soundtrack is immense and the sound effects on occasion were quite creepy (children's noises in the playground, crying baby in the hospital & the woman singing in the hotel) but I felt there could be more.

The plot was interesting, although a tad predictable. I did find I wasn't as scared as I was when I first played SH back in '99 - but maybe that's because I was only 15 back then and didn't know what to expect.

Still, it's an enjoyable game and I did really like it. I'd love another one, hopefully with somewhat of a makeover but keeping to the initial theme.

Ok so I had no idea that SH 4: The Room was playable on my xbox 360 until recently so I bought it. Literally spent 5 minutes on it thus far and I really can't get into it properly. I detest the 'first person' mode in the apartment but I'm gonna put a weekend aside to get into it properly.

Do that, I personally think that SH4 is well worth it, even though it is not your typical SH.

I like it miles better than Homecoming.

One so far (=Silent Hill Homecoming. The worst of the whole series, imho), another one coming next year.

If you had a PS2 also you could play all the games. It's actually pretty cheap nowadays, but I guess it doesn't really make sense to get one.

yay good news for me, Konami's releasing 'Silent Hill HD Collection' for PS3 (includes SH 2 and 3)
I can finally (almost) catch up with the series!

not to mention 'Silent Hill: Downpour' is out later this year too!

Still waiting for Downpour... btw they really need to make better main characters in these games. The last couple have been so unlikeable :lol:

I hope for the next one they have multiple characters, like a married couple or something...
