I'm so ashamed :( This is, along with Christina, my favourite performance. Good Lord, this was too hard only picking 3 haha!

It would be nice to read the first post of any thread before posting something.
Oh, thank you
The thread has descended into an (indirect) stanning mess already. Oh, well, I tried (to set up an interesting thread where people actually take time to view their favorite performance and not just gloss over it with a superior smirk upon their faces).

It's a brilliant thread idea! Don't give up; check the 'female voices since 2008' thread.. This isn't the only one that goes off topic thanks to a select few!

I also like the fact you actually listen to all the posts and make a comment about everyone's post - it'll make a nice read and I may slip in a little debate now and again! :)

:o :o :o I have posted Donna Summer links in two threads, this one and National Anthems ~ both relevant to the thread, so I don't see what your problem is

I can't think of 3 right now, but Bruno Mars performance of 'Grenade' for Billboard is one of the best live vocals of all time as far as I'm concerned.

1. Rihanna performing Love The Way You Lie Part 2 live.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-AdZ_xqIbM

I was blown away actually. This performance shows RiRi's vocals, which are really great... And people keep telling, that she cannot sing live. Haters gonna hate.. One of my favourite performances.

2. Adele performing at the Brits 2011... Damn it was amazing. So emotional and great vocals. This made me a fan of hers.

3. Now for the third one... I can't think of any other right now, but i will go with Gotye performing Somebody That I Used To Know along with Kimbra.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YzGOq42zLk

Amazing vocals from both, and one of my favourite songs right now.

Celine Dion - God Bless America [in tribute to the victims of 9/11]

A superb vocal - one that will live forever. Its just masterful - a vocal masterclass. Greatest female singer of ALL-TIME.

Marvin Gaye sings the US national anthem

Nothing technically brilliant about it. However, Marvin's soul was laid bare in this performance. The best ever performance of the Star Spangled Banner by a much missed singer.

Luther Vandross - The Impossible Dream

Luther was technically, an amazing singer - he had power, texture, range, & unmatchable soul in his voice. And this has it all. Its a superb vocal. Absolutely superb.
