She was well sexy in the scene where she was cutting her knickers (panties) off. This is still not making me laugh - more like a faint smile.

I really love this, shame some people aren't! I think she is so brilliantly kooky and reminds me a little of my friend!

And when they were doing the Birdie Song to the Phil Collins ballad was PRICELESS!

'Hey Jess, I live in a photobooth now'

It just gets better and better.
I've seen all 10 episodes so far but since this thread follows the UK pace, I'll try to avoid spoiling anything.
Just heads up for some great guest stars. :D

I saw that on Twitter Pete but I found that bit a bit stale. Did love her chasing him around though!

My humour clearly isn't as sophisticated as yours. :(

I also just found the full version of the theme song on iTunes. Downloaded.

Zooey Deschanel - Hey Girl - full song

It's maybe a bit much at 3 minutes, kind of like the Friends theme was OK for 30 seconds but irritating when stretched out.

Schmidt has become my new favourite character on television. He is such a douche bag -- but I find it very endearing. lol

He joins Big Bang Theory's, Sheldon Cooper in my recent fav t.v characters.

Her run was great but I did find this the weakest episode yet.

Thanksgiving episode was HILAR! I loved the turkey in the washing machine stuff, and Schmidt in the kitchen was brilliant.

I didn't like her boyfriend though, he needs to go.

Ditto, both counts. That damn turkey in the washing machine had me in stitches.

The boyfriend was just annoying and cringey. I mean, yeah, Jess is kooky but she makes it cool. The guy is just awkward.

Which kinda sucks because the dude who plays him, Justin Long, is brilliant in everything he's been in (that I've seen... he's done a few romcoms I wouldn't have watched).

Love Zooey though. She needs to team up with Kristen Wiig, ASAP.

ZOMG It's Janis Ian!! She looks so different, but absolutely nailed that character - hopefully we'll see more of her.

^Lizzy Caplan of course. Who was in True Blood and Cloverfield. Just so people don't think you mean the famous pop singer Janis Ian but the character from Mean Girls. I was puzzled for a second!

Being pushed to a later timeslot when it comes back after a short break. http://www.broadcastnow.co.uk/news/broa ... 96.article

8:30 was a stupid slot.

Zooey Deschanel's sitcom New Girl is being moved from Channel 4 to E4 in the UK, it has been confirmed.

The show has been on a mid-season break, but when it returns later this month, it will be on the youth-oriented digital channel. The broadcaster says the decision has been taken because it has a stronger appeal for the sister channel’s younger audience.

A representative for Channel 4 told Broadcast: "We’re constantly looking at what’s best for our content across the portfolio of channels and while we were very happy with New Girl's performance on C4, we saw that the profile of New Girl was skewing significantly younger than the C4 slot average and was more in line with the E4 target demographic."

The remaining 13 episodes of New Girl's 24-episode run will now screen on the digital channel. The rep continued: "E4 is the ideal UK home for Jess and the guys and we're very excited to see them move there in June."

New Girl sees Deschanel's kooky character Jess move into a flatshare of men after she discovers her boyfriend cheating. It picked up decent figures for Channel 4 on Friday nights, but proved more successful on their catch-up services, regularly topping monthly charts. A second season has been commissioned in the US.
Might as well put it in the Thursday slot when one of those shows has a break.

Viewing figures were pretty dismal on C4 so I'm not surprised by the move. It would fit in very well with E4's strong Thursday comedy block. It might take Don't Trust The Bitch In Apt 23's timeslot when that ends in about 4 weeks as that's the series with the fewest episodes left.
