M.I.A. - Bad Girls

M.I.A. will return next week with her next single: a new version of "Bad Girls", originally released on her mixtape Vicki Leekx. Produced by Danja (Timbaland, Madonna, Justin Timberlake) the single will be available to stream here on Pitchfork on Monday, January 30, followed by an official release on Tuesday, January 31.
The "Bad Girls" video, directed by Romain Gavras, who did the "Born Free" video, will premiere on February 3. M.I.A.'s full-length followup to 2010's /\/\/\Y/\ is set for release this summer.

Oh god, I can't wait!! I love Bad Girls on Vicki Leekx, this is going to be amazing. M.I.A & Danja

Great timing too because the Madonna single is out like 3 days after hers so she will get more attention!

Have you heard the version on Vicki Leekx? It is quite gritty & quite urban sounding. Actually reminds me of something that would of been on her first album but production is intensified...

I have thought about listening to it, but the sound quality has told me not to. You mean I should? Is it officialy released to purchase!?

I downloaded her mixtape when it came out but never bothered listening to it. :oops:

'Bad Girls' sounds hot, I love the beat and mixture of instruments they've used on it. I just hope they mix it better for the new version as the production sounds a bit too rough.

I don't get über excited from it. But it has potential. That guitar sounding instrument or sound is hypnotic. I hope she develope what she started on MAYA. That's a very alternative record.

Maya!!! Mah gurrrl! Damn I love her so much. Couldn't be any more excited. Has been a pretty uneventful year for me so far. M.I.A. will change it all.

Something along the lines of Arular/Kala would be epic.

I have a feeling she might go a bit more commercial with this album because I think she's at that point in her career where she has decided she wants to be.

I'm not saying she's going to start singing "i i i wanna go oh oh", it'll still have the M.I.A. edge but a bit more accessible for the masses. Hopefully more urban too, I wasn't a big fan of 'Maya'
