Im interested. I love when artists take risks even if its doesnt pay off. Kanyes 808s was a masterpiece to me and that was a departure. I wonder how this will sound.

With two weeks to go until the original drop date, Dot Da Genius announced to fans that we'll have to wait a little longer. They are now aiming for a February 28 release.

My anticipation for this is crazy seeing as it's only based on that snippet of 'Teleport 2 Me'.
I'm glad they've credited Desire because their song the sample is based on, 'Under Your Spell' from the 'Drive (Soundtrack)' is purely divine.

It's OK but doesn't compare to Desire track. Just as Kanye doesn't compare to Cassius. Derulo to Imogen... and so forth.

It's hard because as a Kid Cudi fan, I went into the album thinking it was going to be like his previous solo efforts and it definitely isn't.
It needs repeated listening, there are moments of genius. I need to give it more listens before I can review it.

I love the album cover though.

I love this album.

It's definitely not like his previous efforts, I'm amazed that he managed to step away from his rapper persona and create something like this.
It's a very cohesive album, it works better as a whole.
The point is, if you like the sound he approached, you'll like the album.
He has something in his voice that I find remarkable and the production and general feel of the album is great.
It's kind of a love it or hate it situation. :wink:

I agree with your points cristy, it definitely works better as a whole.
Teleport 2 Me, Jamie is a great song but the second half of the album is very up to the standard of that song.
I love Dr Pill and The Upper Room.

I think that whoever said that, must have been tripping. The whole album is in the vein of "Teleport 2 Me, Jamie". Yes it gets more experimental, yes it has some electro bits (fantastic btw), but it doesn't go too far away.

So for someone to say they like the song but not the album, is quite absurd in my point of view.
