I see the opposite, Wayne :)

IMO, Jessie J is talented, but hasn't showed anything brilliant so far.

In the other hand, Florence may not has the most powerful or "pop" tone, but her music seems to be more fruitful and long-lasting.

Florence has definitely earned her way as a legend in the making, already a critical favourite and one who will stay strong for years to come :D Only properly started to like some of her stuff myself though.

Jessie J's already off to a good start.. and while I enjoy her debut album, I do hope that she'll have more good stuff that'll keep her going too. :)

I didn't really have much of an opinion of Florence one way or another with her debut, but her second album has converted me. I think she has a huge career to come, and even if chart success doesn't last, I think she could certainly be a Bjork/Tori type of cult artist who never bores the fans.

Jessie J is amazing, I haven't voted for her coz I didn't been that much into her music etc in that time, but now she would be definitely in my top 40.

Thanks.

Spice Girls - the best band of all time, EVER. They are far too low. They remind me of my childhood and I still enjoy listening to their songs today. Most of their singles are classics in my eyes, and they had an excellent, albeit brief, career. Really hope they reunite for the Jubilee this year!

Brandy - I knew her from 'Moesha' before I knew of her as a singer. She has some great songs, particularly those from the 90's. Her last album wasn't very good though, so I hope her new one will be a return to form.

Jill Scott - this woman is an INCREDIBLE live performer! So talented and unrehearsed, unlike most other performers. She oozes soul.

Macy Gray - she's as mad as a box of frogs, which is why she is so great. A very unique voice, but also some beautifully written songs.

I thought that Florence was a band! That's why I didn't vote her... So why did you treat Florence as a solo act and Sade as a band?

+1. Florence rocks. Shame I didn't vote for her. Thought she was a 'band'

I've heard little from Florence and I've not got into them yet. Jessie J has a good voice but needs to learn how to control it, she hasn't released nothing that good though her best song so far is "Domino" which is just ok, I think she is WAY too high!

Lost one of my top 20 so far. Florence is an incredibly talented vocalist and is, imo, one of the greatest British vocalists now. Has many great tunes ("You've Got The Love", "Shake It Out", "No Light, No Light"). My #17 - glad she made the top 50.

SuBo is an extraordinary vocalist - and her audition at BGT is easily one of the best auditions I've ever heard in my whole life. Her albums are disappointing though (full of covers), but her voice alone is enough for me to place her high. My #24

Jessie J is one of the greatest new artists I've learnt to appreciate last year, along with Ed Sheeran and Lana Del Rey. Jessie's put out many great pop tunes already ("Domino", "Price Tag", "Nobody's Perfect"). She'll have a pretty bright career ahead of her imo. Glad that she's cracking into the US with "Domino" as it's her best song thus far. My #27

Florence conqured me in a record short time!

She was my #1, very deserving of that place. It's not just the voice of hers that gets me verytime again and again, but more like the way she uses it. She can haunt someone in a minute with hitting all the high notes and keeping them for 15 seconds! She can also sound just like an angel paying a visit to planet earth and take feet off the ground!

I'm watching her career develop pretty close, because she made an unbelievable process from Lungs to Ceremonials I can't keep myself but wonder what might she do next.

What The Water Gave Me, No Light No Light, You Got The Love and Howl are just masterpieces.

I'd never want her to go commercial and make radio songs..never!

Florence and The Machine IS a solo act - according to the BRITs and NME Awards. "The Machine" is Isabella Summers - her keyboardist/ co-writer. But when the "group" was formed, Isabella had departed. Florence kept the name, though. Now Isabella's back as a regular collaborator/ touring musician maybe the act will become a group officially for album 3?

They are phenomenal, and her voice is fantastic.. I adore it completely.

Sade has never released or recorded anything outside of the Sade band - that was the consensus at the start amongst everyone.

And thus, they were excluded.

146 ¬ Debbie Harry ¬ 175 POINTS

Love's touch comes to mean so much
Embrasser c'est Francais
Embrasser c'est Francais
Love's way, s'abandonner
Embrasser c'est Francais
Embrasser c'est Francais

Slip into the velvet glove
Parted lips so filled with love
Embrasser c'est Francais
Embrasser c'est Francais

As the face and sound behind one of new wave's most influential bands to emerge during the punk heyday of the '70s, Debbie Harry was the ultimate diva. She was the Blondie frontwoman, a vixen with hypnotically wild stage moves and an edgy cool voice. A killer sneer matched her signature blonde mop and made her a star. Born in the summer of 1945 in Miami, Debbie Harry was adopted and raised by Richard and Catherine Harry in suburban New Jersey. She spent most of her young adult life working various jobs. Her initial start in music came in the late '60s with the folk-rock act Wind in the Willows. They'd only release one album, their eponymous debut for Capitol in 1968, but Harry had other plans. Her stint as a Playboy Bunny wasn't exactly what she had in mind, but her waitressing gig at Max's Kansas City eventually led her to the punk rock cliques taking over New York City during the '70s. In 1973, Harry met Chris Stein, a graduate of New York's School of Visual Arts. Stein was impressed with Harry's tough persona and her all-girl rock group the Stilettos, and within a year Harry left the band and formed Angel & the Snake with Stein. By 1974, they'd christened themselves Blondie. Contrary to popular belief, their moniker wasn't derived from Harry's famous blonde mane; she took the phrase from the obnoxious truck drivers who catcalled "Hey Blondie, give us a screw" as she'd pass by. With drummer Clem Burke and ex-Knickers keyboardist Jimmy Destri, Blondie spent eight years winning the world over with their infectious post-punk sound. Singles "Heart of Glass," the reggae-tinged "The Tide Is High," and "Call Me" were major chart-toppers in America while Blondie's third album, Parallel Lines sold 20 million copies worldwide.

145 ¬ Yoko Ono ¬ 177 POINTS

Walking on thin ice,
I'm paying the price
For throwing the dice in the air.
Why must we learn it the hard way
And play the game of life with your heart?

I gave you my knife,
You gave me my life
Like a gush of wind in my hair.
Why do we forget what's been said
And play the game of life with our hearts?

Yoko Ono, born 18 February 1933 in Tokyo, is a Japanese artist most widely known for her relationship with John Lennon of The Beatles. When Yoko first met Lennon, she was an artist exhibiting in the UK. Working with art group Fluxus throughout the 1960s, Ono was a pioneer in the burgeoning conceptual art movement which included work in sculpture, performance, filmmaking and music. Few women in the history of rock & roll have stirred as much controversy as Yoko Ono. Although her romance with Lennon was hardly the only factor straining the relationships between the Beatles, she became a convenient scapegoat for the group’s breakup and was repeatedly raked over the coals in the media for her influence over Lennon, both in his life and his music. Ono’s own work as an artist and musician didn’t mitigate the public’s enmity toward her; to the average man on the street, her avant-garde conceptual art seemed bizarre and ridiculous, and her highly experimental rock & roll (which often spotlighted her primal vocals) was simply too abrasive to tolerate. That view wasn’t necessarily universal, and in fact the merits of her work are still hotly debated. Regardless of individual opinion, Ono has left a lasting legacy; she was an undeniably seminal figure in the history of performance art, and elements of her music prefigured the arty sides of punk and new wave (whether she was a direct influence is still debated, although The B-52’s did admit to drawing from her early records).

Both wonderful. 8-)

Yoko is a true artist if ever I saw one. 8-) Her music makes me feel alive and that really is special, she is also painfully eclectic which I also admire. She was my #1 and I can't see anyone overcoming her anytime soon, I won't prattle on about her because you've probably already heard it. Under-rated legend. 8-)

Awaits the insults from people towards Yoko...
